please submit benchmarks as i am trying to see the difference in speed that a different processor/graphics card makes ( e.g. GF4 TI4200)

Just to let you know, that's not impressive at all. I run CS with the Realism patch at 1600x1200 with 4xFSAA and 8xAntistopic at 100fps also.

3DMARKs at 9757 I think, UT2K3 botmatch demo at about 55fps, can't remember either. I'll tell you when I get home.

Gets about 8300 on the Madonion benchmarks. Curious - a Radeon 8500 is faster than any Geforce3, yet it is soundly beaten by Turbonutters PC. RAM, perhaps?


And don't touch any motherboard with any VIA chip near it, particularly the Southbridge - I have no end of trouble with what should be a top dollar sucky sucky motherboard, because VIA forgot to design their drivers to make use of more than 70% of their chips capacity. The PCI bus cannot sustain burst rate, so the system occasionally hangs when graphics and sound are both in use.

Like, all the time, for instance.
