I was watching Dragnet the other night, and wondered - what happened to him to turn him from one of the funniest comedy actors into the artsy-fartsy ponce of a 'serious actor' that he is now?
Castaway? Road to Perdition? Saving Ryan's Privates?
Yawn!
He's not funny any more.
Watched it... thought it was quite good.
> The 'Burbs was fantastic, why did nobody see that film?
Isn't that the film where he and his neighbours think that there new neighbours are killers or something and spy on them? I remember the guy lying in the bin mans truck because they thought there was bones in them. Weird film, quite a good watch though.
Sure, the whole Wilson thing is a joke, but he did play the part well.
But why would he have to be funny in that film - a film about being stranded on an unknown Island for 4 years with everyone back home thinking you're dead?? That's not funny. I'm surprised he didn't go TOTALLY insane!
It had Bruce Dern as an insane Vietnam Vet neighbour, Corey Feldman as a stoner, Carrie Fisher as Hank's wife and a ginger hillbilly-mutant family called "The Klopeks"
He's just become so goddamn noble lately.
If Righteousness ever needed a poster, his big squishy face would be on it.
That's the sound of Tom Hanks driving around town in his Oscar vehicle. I'm eagerly awaiting Big 2.
"Hello Wilson. I sure like Fed-Ex. Wilson? Here's a Fed-Ex package Wilson. Did I say Wilson? Fed-Ex Wilson. OOo, a helpful whale!"
Rubbish film.
Toy Story was funny.
