To be honest I think it was an act of desperation on Gatesy’s side.
why?
because even though that Microsoft may be making the most money Nintendo are selling the most machines.
so in the long run Ninty are making the most money and Microsoft are biting the dust.
Although the Xbox is a beast of a machine the pricing of it is a rip of.
true it may have a massive 8Gig hard drive but surely Microsoft won't be able to set Ninty’s high standards.
The reason being that Ninty have such high standards is because for years and years Ninty have had great developers like Rare at their sides.
But Bill Gates just stand being beaten so one phrase applies to Bill Gates “If you can’t beat ‘em buy ‘em” which seems to be the case here.
Gates even dared to try and buy Nintendo, but the god ol’ guys at Ninty wouldn’t have it.
Frankly I can’t believe that greed got the better of Rare.
Rare have brought us Ninty’s many years of quality entertainment. It will be sad to see them go but it will also be good to see how they get on with Microsoft.
It will be like no task Rare have ever faced.
If the standards of games like DOA 3 are to be anything to go by (And DOA 3 wasn’t even developed by Rare, Duh!) then what surely with the Xbox’s super powers surely judging by Rare’s past history in game development were in for a treat.
Rare will no doubt push the “Black Box” to the limits.
I say good luck to Rare.
Maybe Rare defected to Microsoft because they wanted to move on and they may have also wanted a new challenge.
With the introduction of Xbox online this will surely (Stop calling me Shirley) provide us with some fantastic xbox online compatible games.
Maybe this is the exact reason why Rare left Ninty, because they wanted to try their gifted skills at online gaming.
Rare to me are gods of the gaming world.
Maybe they’ll bring some good luck to Microsoft.
But if you are a Ninty why would you care?
Because Rare (Like I said) have brought Nintys world-wide years of endless pleasure.
So if you’re a true Ninty then you will be praising Rare on their good work and wishing them good luck to them.
I know I will be.
One thing I know for sure that if Microsoft even dare to buy Ninty that Nintys everywhere will put up a very strong process.
If this happens then what happens to us?
I don’t know, nobody does.
What I do know though is that we will be very sad and perhaps even angry to see them go.
I can only really see Microsoft trying to buy Nintendo is if that Microsoft are as desperate as you can get also if Microsoft offered a ridiculous amount of green stuff (No not grass!) to buy over Ninty only then may (That’s a very big may) give into greed.
Even then I think it’s very unlikely as Nintendo have been such a successful company.
We’ve come a long way in our video game world.
Just think that 10 years or so ago we were all playing console games with graphics that we would laugh at these days.
But who cares from them came generations of weird and wonderful consoles, ranging from the Virtual Boy right the way up to the Game cube.
Hopefully these consoles will generate all sorts of weird and wonderful consoles in years to come. Surely (I said stop calling me Shirley) that’s something to look forward to.
Here’s to Video games!
> Pricing a rip off? I think you had better think about that one.
It sounds exspensive to less well of poeple but to folk like Bill Gates it's just poket money.
I don't think he thought of it that way.
not all of us are milti billionares y'know
> I like this post because I like poking fun at Bill Gates. GC has got
> the ability to go online too you know
Yes but unlike the Xbox it's an add-on
Well at £299 may seem like a fair price for a console with a 8Gig hard drive but for less well of people like myself the price seems a little daunting!
Agreed though the price has come down a lot but thats only because Gates was forced into a price war!
At the moment Console prices are crashing down to a reasonable price.
such as the GC at £129 what a bargain.
> Pricing a rip off? I think you had better think about that one.
Good grief! We agree!
That's twice it's happened - better be careful!
Xbox isn't a rip-off at £159. And it wasn't a rip-off at £299 either.
The only real rip-off was the price-drop after 4 weeks.
But I'm over that now. Just.
*Twitches*
