After weeks (should that be months) of speculation it has been announced today that Nintendo have sold their 49% interest on Rare to Microsoft. Nintendo do, however, still hold the rights to characters such as Donkey Kong, Starfox and Diddy Kong.

Fact is, all three of the companies are still in talks about who gets what and to what length the company is owned by Microsoft.
