Look. We all know that the Xbox is the most powerful next-gen console. There is no doubt about it. Then comes the Gamecube. Then the PS2. But does raw processing power REALLY matter? Is it not in the hands of the developers? The original Dark Cloud, believe it or not, was pushing upwards 11 mpps...but did it really look that great? No, it didn't. It had bland textures. And overall looked pretty subpar. Now lets take a game like ICO. ICO does not push near as many polygons and as Dark Cloud did, but would you agree with me if I said it looked much better? I think you would. The developers incorporated subtle atistic effects, such a cel-shading, washed out colors in cetain areas, etc. Those are the factors which created a good looking game. Not pushing 15 mpps. Thats one of the reasons why I think the PS2, while inferior to the other next-gen consoles on paper, does not produce games which look inferior. If you create the illusion of beauty and atmosphere in a game, naturally, the will look beautiful and have atmospere. Take a look at games such as ZOE2, Star ocean 3 and DMC2. All of those games have artistic and atmosperic beauty. And believe me, they are not pushing 20 mpps. I think that this proves my theory that games do not have to push mad amounts of polygons to look good. Anyone agree/disagree?

I can't see any polygons on any of my Gamecube games?

Where you get them from?

I have to say.

This has been done before. And prepare for other Nintendo fans who prove that the GC is as fast/faster than the XBox. I can't be bothered.

Apart from that. Indeed.
