Basically, they show quite an obvious pattern. In year 7, most of my grades for achievement were As and most of my effort grades were 1s. For year 8, most of my achievement grades were still As but my effort grades were down to 2s. For year 9, some of my achievement grades were down to Bs and Cs, and my effort grades were mostly 3s
This shows, ladies and gentlemen, that I got lazy and simply stopped caring. I always knew this, but to see it in print is weird
I might look for my year 10 and 11 reports, as that's when the real trouble began. I simply stopped working, relying on my natural talent for exams, which can only get you so far, so I was getting Cs at best. My teachers and parents were constantly telling me I had the ability to do the work, but I didn't listen, and kept on messing on in school, never working and knocking off lessons, and not doing my homework
I came out of year 11 with only 4 GCSE grades at C or above, not even enough to do 6th form technically, but they let me in anyway. If I'd kept working at the same level as I had in year 7, I could have passed science, maths, history, DT and German, instead of the Es and Ds I got. Curse my laziness, curse it to heck
Let this be a lesson kids, WORK HARD IN SCHOOL! It may seem pap, but when you're finished and you have nothing to show for it, it's one of the most depressing feelings ever.
I just finished 6th form with 2 Cs, when I got As and Bs in my exams, but because I messed up one exam in Sociology by not revising (got an E for it) and didn't care about my acting grade in Drama (think I got an E there too, or at best a D) I got two Cs instead of Bs or even As. And that's an even MORE depressing feeling, knowing that just ONE bloody exam stopped you from looking like a genius (A and B grades at A level aren't a small feat)
It's too late for me, but save yourselves! Work hard in school!
And don't do drugs either, heh
OK, maybe just some...
The only thing these A levels will get me is a better chance of getting a job, but still, it was quite a waste of two years of my life. I could be doing higher media right now, or at uni even.
Oh, and I found my report from the beginning of year 13, where I was predicted a D in Drama and a U in Sociology for my Jan exams. I got two Ds, which proved my Sociology teacher wrong yet again. I also found the letter they sent me when I took two weeks off 6th form for no reason other than that I couldn't be bothered to get out of bed, and a copy of the reply my dad sent. It's funny reading stuff about yourself that they had no intention of you reading, so they're totally honest, but want to be polite to each other at the same time.
First years of secondary I did homework and stuff but didn't need to study then passed most.
Highers though I was lazy and failed all the mocks when I got my act together and studied solid for about 4-5 months and ended up getting 3 A's and 2 B's
Least you're at college and stuff... you could be working in McDonalds for rest of life
