I have just recieved my ps2 and i must say i am pleased. The graphics are awe inspiring. The main problem is the price of gaqmes and a memory card. Games cost around £40 and a memory card willk set you back £28!!!

I hate it when that happens, there's always a place where one new machine always takes over the whole shop.
That's why i prefer online shops! No need to be laughed at from a shop assistant, no why not buy a Dreamcast instead of a playstation and no more overuse of space for just one machine being overhyped when it's not really on sale to the general public!

sorry, i meant the Snes and the mega drive, but thinking about it, I live in a town where no one likes Sega. OK the PS2 thing, I still think tha Sony will rule the market again, Nintendo will still have great games but the flow will be around the same-1 every 5 months! and Sony will still have all the duplicate formats, sequels and copies which will boost the numbers. I went into a game shop in blue water the otherday! and there wasn't one N64 game! I almost had a talk to the assistant but thought that he wouldn't be able to do anything. So I had a talk to my dad infront of the Sony titles saying how bad they were out loud, quite immature but I was bored.

Sony will rule the Market, nintendo will be humble and let them past, X-Box will do the same, i think they're doing it as an experiment, Microsoft is the most powerful and influential producer in the world you know.

I said that the Nes beat off the Master System. That means it was better, and more sucessful. :)

Right, perhaps many PS2's are brought now. But which will last longer? I say the Cube, or the X-Box.

The Dreamcast is a great console, and it could put up a great fight if it had some support, but alas, developers are full of themselves, and they only want sales, not good games.

So I wasn't really refering to the best console, but more of the developer support for it, and how long it will be before developer support starts lacking for it.

They can't just say, "Let's bring it out on the PS2 as well" anymore, because it can't be just ported. However, it can be on the X-Box and Cube. So that's why I think it will last longer.

I'm not usually someone that would disagree, but Grix, i'm sure the master system didn't do aswell as the nes, but they were both very good consoles so it doesn't matter, plus, there is no doubt in my head that the PS2 will sell more units than any other console to come out, but Nintendo will always have the no1 spot in my heart and i will continue to love their games.
it's not the console that's being sold, it's the games(in the long run) - I will explain, you don't buy a PS2 because it looks better than the Gcube or DC, it's because of the amount of games you expect, you wouldn't buy a GCube because of it's colour and then buy PS2 games because you like the gameplay because it doesn't work.

I really need to go back to sleep.

Okay folks, break it up!

Don't forget it's all down to personal preference. I'm sure most of you here would jump at the chance to own ALL the machines on offer, but if you have to choose one, you go for the one that has the most interest for you. Mine's the Dreamcast at the moment, but if something comes out later for the PS2 that I'm interested in, then might save up for one a bit quicker than I currently am (and at this rate i'll have a PS2 when the PS3 comes out!)

Humm. Has anyone noticed that no console company has ruled for two joining times?

Explaination.

First off was the NES. Did well. Beat off the Master System.

Next, over all the Megadrive won. Although there were more sales of the SNES in Britain, the Megadrive eventually overtook it.

Then the Playstation. Followed by the N64, and unfortuantly killed the Saturn.

Now?

Sega, Microsoft or Nintendo will have it. Not Sony. Certainly.

Odds?

Sega: 10-1
Microsoft: 4-1
Nintendo: 3-1
Sony: 7-1

And that's my honest opinion. And I'm not usually wrong about these sort of things, so learn to trust my judgement, I did, and it did wonders for my love life.

(Hey?)

Sorry, got caught up in the moment.

This is totally irrelevant, who cares if the PS2 is more powerful, look at the PS1 the N64 was more powerfu; the Saturn was more powerful, and the only 2 left was Nintendo and Sony!

This was a little bit of a pointless message, but I just have to say, that we also have our Playstation's and PS2s to play on, and the PS2 is better than thr N64 and maybe the DC.

I was shown that if the game needed a memory card then it came with the game.
was this letter just a boast? as elitesnoiper said, we don't care if you have one, my mate has one(import) and there is one with loads of games in my local game shop(all imported games but they're in English).

What a waste of space! We don't want to hear all your graphic wowing or your Sony madness, we have our N64's and Dreamcasts to play!
