It probably has little to do with any updates the Cube might or might not get but rather the analogue placement. The Gamecube controller is far more comfortable than the X-box one and the PS2's analogue sticks are parralel making the controls sightly fiddily. Which is why the cube rules for FPS's

If it's on an official pod in the shop, you can lift it out of the stand - or I have in Game, Dixons, etc in Cardiff anyway.
;)
Personally *i* think that rules.
Although I don't care, I could really choose what to buy it on. :P
Other than the little bumpy "action" buttons (which you don't really need much for FPS) I think it's fine.
As for Timesplitters 2, after Turok's pretty bad reviews (especially from Digitiser), the fact that it's [Turok] only out a week before Mario Sunshine (so it's not worth getting it to bridge the gap), and the fact that a friend of mine is getting Turok (so I'll get to play it anyway! :-)), I'll be changing my order to Free Radical's game.

What did I tell you!?!?
I told you not to waste you're money, but noooo!
Anyway, I like the XBOX controller, it isn't as comfortable as the GC one but then I use the GC one a lot more!
I also like the controls for Halo, they really are easy to use once you've learned them.
But of course, there's nothing better than the ol' PC for FPS'. The combination of keyboard and mouse is a main reason why games like Tactical Ops, Deus Ex, MOH: Allied Assault and Unreal Tournament 2003 are by far the best FPS' in the gaming market.
