Got my PS2 yesterday morning, dashed home, switched it on, and have been in heaven ever since.

The machine is awesome.

Ridge V - Tekken Tag - TimeSplitters - NHL 2001

That's what I got with it; still waiting on SSX from SR as my Gameaday prize.

DVD playback - top-notch! Very little difference from my Sony DVP-S725D, so if there ever was a quality issue with the Japanese machines, it's been well and truly sorted.

And as I suspected, the games look FAR better when moving than any screenshots I've seen.

So... now that we all (well, a lot of us) have a personal experience of what it's like, I suggest that we respond to any cretinous posts from green-eyed monsters with a cool, calm... "Yeah, whatever."

Ta ta then folks... I'm off back to The Third Place...

I dont know if the PS2 would be cheaper as Sony could sell them at 300 for ages as they cant make enough of them. I reckon the price will still be 300 this time next year.

I have to agree with people who say PS2 looks better when moving, I had a DVD of PS2 games from a magazine I was impressed by that they even look better in the game. I wish RR5 had anti aliasing like TTT but hey it still moves fast with graphics PC's and other consoles just cant produce.

One of my friends is getting it in the Summer. That'll be a good time because the price will be cheaper and a few more "must have" games will be out (it's Final Fantasy that made his mind up).

I'm still going to wait for a Gamecube though (or play on my Amiga if it wasn't broken...)

I don't like those adverts mind. It's what happens if you have the technology, but no skill, or imagination either.

Sorry. Seeing everything in a different sense ever since I started writing my books...

Recommended RPG's to keep you going till The Bouncer gets released:

Suikoden
Alundra
Grandia
Vandal Hearts
Vandal Hearts 2
and personally I quite liked Wild Arms, though the games press panned it.

Have fun.

I could not agree more! Videos cannot compare to the PS2 and CD's! I really have been in heaven as well, even though I have only bought Tekken Tag, have to wait until March for The Bouncer, but there just ain't enough RPG's out there right now. I have not yet managed to get a DVD film, but Blockbusters Rental would be a good idea, which is where I will be heading for come Monday!

I was wondering about the Scart Cable that came supplied. Is it true that there are a few cables that I could buy that would make the Visual and Audio more crisp & sharp???

Is there any games you could recommend that are like Final Fantasy??? I would prefer PS2 games, but I suppose I could get a normal Playstation 1 game if there aren't any PS2 RPG's yet!!!
