Nothing to worry about though.
If you go to PlanetGamecube.com you can find him saying that while all the old franchises are being done this year, he has several new idea's for the second, as well as sequels to current franchises.
I wonder what other idea's he has?
Hopefully, a lot of them will be multiplayer based as Nintendo's single player games don't seem to be lasting so long nowdays.
Pikmin was FAR too short...
Then again, perhaps now they've made Pikmin's engine, they'll be able to concentrate on making more levels and putting in more depth and replayabily.
As for Pikmin, not only has Shigsy been talking about Pikmin 2 he has hinted a Pikmin 3!!!
And i'll go back to my first point, we don't need more. At the rate Nintendo are churning out games (E.g Super Mario Advance 3... soon, and Super Mario Sunshine 2 Early 2003), we don't even have to wait long for the new adventures/ sequels.

Yeah but it seems to be working as that makes people think, "hang on new game, mind blowing, must buy GC" only to find out it was what miyamoto wanted as pizza toppings.
Could be true.

I know, but put it this way.
We all like Mario, but he's nothing compared to what he was 15 years ago.
He THE God of video games.
Now he's just an established character.
Pokemon was HUGE a few years back, but the craze has died and it's just a few hardcore fans left who are looking forward to the next well established Pokemon games.
and games like Pikmin and SSBM

Who's doubting him.
Then again, Nintendo have gone into "cash-in" mode over the past year or so - making games much shorter and easier so they don't last as long.
look at the number of quality titles

We knew that! :-)
We knew that Nintendo would keep bring their old franchises forward, but we weren't sure if they still have it in them to create new franchises that could cause another popularity boom.
Pikmin was good, but it terms of franchise, it didn't exactly cause the boom that Mario, Sonic, Lara Crfot and Pokemon did.
Still I have faith :)
Nothing could stop those 2 - unless of course Nintendo bizzarely stopped them themselves... :S But that'll never happen. :)
I'd like to see some new ideas though, I think Pikmin was pretty good, but i'd like to see more Platform and Adventure games - like Rare's Banjo Kazooie.
I think its been so long becuase nintendo have realised how big a diffrence early games make.
They will release all their big guns, zelda, mario and metroid etc etc, so people will se this amazing games and buy a gamecube. This are the type of games which turns heads.
After that they will start new games, i find people are still "afraid" of buying new-new games.
Nintendo has realised this becuase of the N64 when most of the good games were released late in the consoles life, when it was too late as people had a console or was saving for the 128bit era.
how can you doubt shigsy?? look at the number of quality titles nintendo have made in their time, but your still not happy, have faith in Grand Master Shigsy, im sure he wont let us down,
