And had a most excellent discovery, a band I'd heard of and knew 1 song by.
Except I've found I absolutely love about 90% of the other songs on there, and I'd like to try and convince at least one other person to experiment and go download the following to see if you'd like to buy the CD.
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Yep, the band that did "Sweet Home Alabama". Except a load of the other songs are fantastic.
So go seek the following and gimme your honest opinion on what you think:
Gimme Back My Bullets
Simple Man (original version)
I'm a Country Boy
I Ain't The One (original version)
Every Mother's Son
Ignore your preconceptions about them, it's (in my opinion) some of the best early rock music I've heard in a while. Gimme Back my Bullets sounds like Clutch circa 1973 and Simple Man is the birth of stuff today like The Counting Crows.
Go listen and tell meh
and Simple Man is the birth of stuff
> today like The Counting Crows.
*runs to download*
:-)
Free bird is a great song, in fact the whole album is worth downloading or buying.
I feel dirty and used
You probably have all the ones I just suggested?
My favorite song on the album is Simple Man, all the words make perfect sense and its one of few songs that makes me completely shut up and listen. EVERY time I play it.
On The Hunt is the one I listen to before I go out on friday, I love the guitar rifts and well.. Free Bird just rules, as does Sweet Home Alabama. Cheers mate, will listen to it tonight while going to sleep.
And if I hadn't brought the CD five years ago I probably still wouldn't have heard any of it.
Actually.. I can't believe you didn't have it. Hmm.. If you ever see the band Yes, grab the 'Close to the Edge' album and 'Tomato'. You would like I am guessing....

Haha. Spade is the man.
