Reading in my local paper yesterday it had an article saying that a United Arab Emirate paper had recieved news from an Al Qaida source that Osama Bin Laden had died in the bombing on the Tora Bora Mountain range a few months back in December i think it all happened.
Now if this is true then this is a very important factor on the war of terrorism and it also shuts up all those Anti-American areas of the media who decide that on Sept 11 they're not going to show any respect but print loads of articles slating America and asking the important question of where's Osama. If this news is true then America has accomplished all of it's main goals in Afghanistan:
* Got rid of Osama Bin Laden
* Got rid of the Taliban
* Giving the people of Afghanistan especially women, rights instead of if they didn't do something the Taliban liked they'd be killed.
* And getting some sort of democratic system in Afghanistan
All in the space of a year the USA and us have done this while all the wobblers were saying this would take 50 years it'll be going on into our childrens generation blah blah blah. When we can confirm this news i hope if these sections of the media have any decency then they'll be sitting at a table eating some good old uncle Sam humble pie

All in the space of a year the USA and us have done this while all the wobblers were saying this would take 50 years it'll be going on into our childrens generation blah blah blah. When we can confirm this news i hope if these sections of the media have any decency then they'll be sitting at a table eating some good old uncle Sam humble pie
I hope he is dead.
If he did die in the Tora Bora mountains then it's unlikely his remains will ever be recovered unless we can grab inteligence telling us where (roughly) Bin Laden was at the time.
It's known for certain that Osama was injured in October in his right arm, in a video released in late October he remained seated in a chair and only moved his left arm whilst the right remained motionless. It's also known from Al Queda terrorists at Camp X Ray that Osama and a large cadre fled into the mountains of Tora Bora round about mid October, as we all know, Tora Bora was free of civilian areas and the allied forces bombarded it with RAF Tornadoes, Cruise Missiles, B52's and a whole host of other weapons, including the infamous Daisy Cutter bomb designed to pentrate rock and detonate inside a facility. In March this year, an Aghani journalist claimed to have had an audience with Bin Laden at a secret location on the Afghan/Pakistan border - he lated admitted to Pakitani Police that he'd not met Bin Laden but someone claiming to speak for him.
Since November, no new videos dated after October have been released. Sure, there's been videos but intelligence has dated them as being prior to 9/11.
If, if, he is alive then he's successfully evading the combined might of the US Special Forces, Pakistani authorities and the world's intelligence agencies. Sure, America has a bad reputation for intelligence, but the Israeli's don't and neither do we.
Also, if he was alive, now would be the time to make some kind of appearance for his "loyal" followers. Look at the situation Al Queda finds itself in;
Finances around the world confiscated. Al Queda cells being captured across the West, operatives in Asia and the Middle East being captured or killed, the full might of the US military against the remnants in Afghanistan along with other nations assisting the US. High ranking Al Queda men are one by one being assasinated, arrested or just disappearing.... In short they're taking a beating. The way terrorists operate means that most cells will themselves only have their belief in Bin Laden as a means to think he is alive. In the face of increasing pressure and capture, that faith ins't going to last long in many, unless he appears. Has he ? No.
I'm not sure myself, more evidence suggests he is dead than alive but...

There hasn't been any substantial evidence to prove his death (or whether he's still alive, for that matter) and until there is, I'd take everything you read with a pinch of salt.
