Have any of you had problems Scarting your dreamcast into a TV. I can't get any signal with a Scart but it is fine with an RF lead. I don't know if it is the Dreamcast or if all the scart leads I have tried are busted.

When I use my scart lead on my dreamcast, then turn the dreamcast on, it overides any other channels that I've already got on.

My Gamecube doesn't have that effect though.

My Dreamcast lead is the only Scart Cable I have which'll change the channel to AV for me. It's strange, because it doesn't happen for my PS2, Xbox or GameCube.

I know. I have got my TV and PS2 scarted in just fine.

SCART leads don't give an RF signal, you don't tune them in.

In theory, after you've connected the thing, and turn the DC on you should be able to find it on the AV/EXT channel on your TV. In most cases thats 0 (modern TVs), but older ones sometimes have a stupid switch on them that changes to EXT or AUX mode, which could be the case for you.

Probably is the TV then, I guess. Shame really. Save up and get a widescreen, the LG models are pretty good for their low price and will work in NTSC mode too.

:( my TV is an old one. One of the really early ones to have scart sockets on, its only got one socket too. Hmm I may need a new TV (or is that getting a bit drastic. I could do with a TV that can cope with NTSC anyway (otherwise I'm gonna have to watch Terminator 2 in Black and White

Oh well its back tho my trusty RF lead for now.

It's probably the 'super' SCART effect. The Dreamcast uses a slightly different set up that means some TVs can't show it through one of their SCART sockets, or if you have more than one SCART plugged in, it cancels the DC one out. If you have more than one SCART socket, try disconnecting everything from all your sockets and just plug the DC SCART in to the TV, then try it in the other one. You may have to put the tv on another channel (i.e. AV2 or AV3 instead of AV1,or RGB etc).

It's worth doing as the difference in quality is noticable and you get your 60hz mode as well.

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
