Don't leave, DW. There are more people that like and respect you here than idiots that find it funny to laugh at another person - with feelings.
I've been through all this. People at school, who I call "friends", being honest I'm not too sure. They're fine on their own, they're also clever and should know better, but put the two main ringleaders together, and all hell breaks loose on everyone but those two. It get's tiresome, but believe me, you're better than them.
It's a group of us, without those two everyone get's on fine. Like normal friends. But those two come along and it's suddenly dog eat dog. There's nothing I can do to change it, other than walk off when they come along, and go join the other group of people I like to talk to. I still don't understand why the others won't do the same.
Anyway, this isn't *my* life story, it's yours. Ignore the people that mock you, they don't matter. Try to find other people to talk to, more mature people. Just don't leave SR, you're liked here.
