Right, you know who Korn are, surely. They're those idiot grungy freak show people who play difficult to understand music for a discontent youth. Hmmmm, that was my opinion of them anyway, but that's changed.

I now see Korn as a massive band, excellent music and spectacular showmen. I was at their gig in the Glasgow SECC on Wednesday, and all I can say is, I now have the utmost respect for the talents possessed by Korn.

It's not every day that you listen to a live band who sound better than their music does on a digitally mastered CD, but Korn pulled it off. A massive video wall in the background played some of their most famous video whilst they were singing, Freak on a Leash still being superbly spectacular.

The show was topped of by a blinding encore with Jonathon Davies sporting a leather kilt and playing the bagpipes, there's no other way to send a crown in Scotland absolutely mad.

As for the support act, the first band were an unknown, Trust Co. and were reasonably good. Considering I didn't know any of their songs before hand, I throroughly enjoyed their set. The big attraction, and supposedly a reason why a lot of people bought tickets was the support set by Puddle of Mudd.

Now, to be fair, I like Puddle of Mudd's music, but as a live act, they weren't too good at all. The band pandered to shocking the 14 year olds in the crowd and left everyone over that age feeling a little annoyed. If, in this day and age, it's good for a rock band's lead singer to ruin every song his band plays by shouting "suck my d!&*", "give me your hate" and loads of other jibberish after every other line of every song, then I must be far too old to go to a Puddle of Mudd concert.

I saw Puddle of Mudd supporting Linkin Park about...in fact, a year ago tomorrow, and they were excellent. They didn't swear or anything, and they played brilliantly. I subsequently went out and bought their album. Then they got popular, which kinda sucks because now they're on every pop programme/compilation album/channel. Maybe the fame went to their heads. They were certainly better than Dilated peoples, who also supported that night. The whole crowd was saying "You suck!" at the top of their voices by the end.
