Remember how it used to be? People would whinge about rare and freelo.. no further back than that.

When we all had our new releases, from Luigi's Mansion to Pikmin, i think that about covered the span of all the big cube titles released to date.

The forums were a great place to be then. Everyone was happy with their gaming - everyone with a cube anyway - and was happy to discuss their new experiences as they progressed through whatever classic title they were currently engrossed in.

Then it all dried up, not all that long after the novelty of Pikmin began to wear off. At first there was a numbness similar to the gaps in breaking news before the cube's release. Then patches of immense spam and whinging about freeloader and rare.
That wasn't fun.

While some of you have sneaked your copies out of shops a little early, tonight is the eve of the official release of the first heavily anticipated cube release in a long time, Resident Evil.

Still, it's more than that. With the delays of Metroid and Wario (a blessing in disguise?), we could have great titles churned out on a regular basis until at least the release of Zelda (assuming a prompt PAL conversion).
Tonight isn't just the eve of Resi's release, it's the eve of a whole season of great gaming, and perhaps too the eve of happy times for the forums, as games breathe life into our topics, providing fodder for the kinds of discussions that make this place somewhere worth being.

Here comes the monsoon.
Lets hope it's a good one :^)

I'm working on another GAD attempt in my quest to win Super Mario Sunshine. It's proving tough, though!
