There came a day, unlike any other, when Earth's Mightiest Consoles found themselves united against a common threat. On that day, the Console Avengers were born - to fight the foes no single console could withstand. The team's roster has prospered through the years, changing many times, but the Console Avengers' glory is ever undeniable. Heed the call, then - for now, the Avengers Assemble!

Base of operations: Special Reserve Mansion, World Wide Web

A handful of Earth's foremost superhuman consoles were united by chance when Poki, Asgardian God of Powercuts, attempted to discredit the grey-skinned behemoth known as the PlayStation. Sony's second son hoped to draw his heroic foster brother - SNES, Norse God of Plumbers - into battle. PlayStation's ally, teenage console 3DO, dispatched a help message to the Mega Drive . But Poki intercepted the distress call and redirected it to SNES. Inadvertently, the summons also fell into the hands of three other heroes: the black-as-night Master System, and the age-old ZX Spectrum. Together, they tracked down the PlayStation and discovered Poki to be the true culprit. A spectacular battle ensued; in the end, the Asgardian trickster was apprehended.

Before the heroes went their separate ways, ZX Spectrum suggested they continue their partnership; the other consoles readily agreed. The newly formed team assembled a short time later at the Special Reserve mansion of SEGA industrialist Yuji -- a.k.a. Master System, although this fact was unknown to his teammates at the time. Naka soon donated the mansion for the Console Avengers' exclusive use and established a foundation to cover all operational expenses incurred by the non-profit team.

The PlayStation's instability and questionable reputation brought its' tenure with the Avengers to an abrupt end. Although the consoles never have considered PlayStation an enemy, they feel that it is their responsibility to keep a watchful eye on the cash-intoxicated ex-Avenger.

Though they stand alone as the world's most celebrated champions of justice, the Console Avengers relationship with the government and the public has been something of a roller-coaster ride. Often, members' actions have been questioned, and the team's administration has come under fire. At the height of a media frenzy that saw critics attack the Console Avengers' inclusion of crappy consoles and lack of minority members, the team was asked to restructure its roster according to the preferences of the videogaming public.

- X-Box -

Height: exact height unknown (believed to be approximately 3.2 inches)
Powers: Besides superhuman mass, durability and strength, the X-Box can create a mono-directional gravity field that renders it virtually immovable as long as it remains in contact with the ground.

- Gamecube -

Height: 4.3 inches
Powers: Due to its' far superior sound and music capabilities, Gamecube can generate a sonic scream that can shatter objects, enable it to fly or induce unconsciousness in others.

- Dreamcast -

Height: 2.6 inches
Powers: Potentially the world's most powerful telepath, Dreamcast possesses vast psionic abilities. It can induce illusions, temporary mental or physical paralysis, loss of specific memories, or total amnesia; project mind-numbing mental bolts; and sense the presence of humans within a small radius. It can potentially communicate telepathically with up to six billion people at any one time. Due to SEGA's inept marketing skills and dodgy advertising strategies, the Dreamcast has yet to realise its' full potential which has resulted in its' downfall on a number of occasions.

- PlayStation 2 -

Height: variable (3-12 inches)
Powers: Due to years of exposure to the size-altering properties of Sony Particles, PS2 can increase in stature at will to a maximum height of 12 inches or shrink to the height of 3 inches. It grows by drawing additional mass from an extra-dimensional source, to which it returns when the PS2 reverts to normal. The process apparently fortifies the density of its' innards and electronics so they can support his increased weight, and grants it superhuman strength. PS2 also is capable of altering the size of any object it touches, provided it has been treated with a stabilizing agent of Sony's own design.

- GBA -

Height: 1 inch
Powers: The GBA possesses heightened senses that developed naturally to compensate for its' extreme nearsightedness, caused due to intolerable glare. Primary among these is its' "radar sense," a function of the GBA's brain that synthesizes a very close analogue to third-dimensional console sight.

While the team has faced difficulties internally and externally, the Console Avengers always have risen to the challenge -- meeting and defeating any and all threats to the videogaming public and indeed the entire planet.
