Sorry for starting a new topic for this, but it's just cos i value your opinions so highly :^)

Since experiencing the freedom of wavebird, i've been having problems with the small size of my 14 inch tv.
Maybe i could flog it for £50-60 when the students turn up in a few weeks.
But the replacement is the big issue:

£130
20 ins, old shaped screen, ntsc compatible, teletext, 1 x scart, brand: ferguson

£150
21 ins, old shaped screen, ntsc compatible, teletext, 1 x scart, brand: ferguson

£230
24 ins widescreen, probably ntsc, teletext, 2 x scart, comes with stand, brand: bush

Obviously moving to an ntsc will be necessary for freeloader, so if i'm getting a tv i want that, and my scart multi-plug doesn't seem to work with my dvd, so one with 2 sockets would be better than chancing a new adaptor.

Which of the three do you think? Or would i do better to keep my money and shop around?

How do you determine whether a TV is NTSC compatible or not, what is NTSC, and why does the Freeloader/Action Replay need it?

Hmm, we have no cash converters, but there is one place.

Unlikely to be able to find out whether the tv takes ntsc there tho.

Found a 21" regular screen one with 2 scarts and definite ntsc for £180.
And tomorrow i think i'll try currys and dixons, see what they can offer.

Every so often though, i take a step back and look at myself, going through all the bigger tvs, then i look at my 14" one, which does the job. Maybe a little small and sometimes inconvenient, but it does the job.
And i think i'm such a materialistic little ho' (to get it thru the censor).

Then i think again, and figure it is better, will save f'ing around with the two scart cables, will let me use freeloader, and enhance my pal gaming, so essentially i'm buying something that'll make me happy.

The two sides of me disagree furiously. If my bank account doesn't end this tv-owning pipe dream first, it'll be interesting to see which side comes out on top.

Since the middle one is only 1 inch bigger than the first one and £20 dearer than it, I would go for the first one.

Just going off of the subject here, how would you determine if a TV was NTSC compatale? I know my TV in my room accepts 60hz mode, so would that mean I have an NTSC compatable TV?

Oh, and I would go for the Middle. :D Not too much, not too little, if you see what I mean.

If you can, go for the £230 one.

Well unless you're super loaded and can totally afford it go for the 230 pound one.

Personally I'd go for the 130 pound one simply because 20 pound isn't really worth an extra inch. I'm sure a student like yourself would appriciate some spare cash ;)
