The film was set before season 4 of Voyager.
The original series is quite funny nowadays, but gets so repetative. Surely Captain James Tiberius Kirk must've caught some alien version of AIDS by now with the amount of women he's slept with! Mind you, Bones performed miracles in his time, and even managed to find a cure for his father moments after turning off the life support machine (HA!)
The Next Generation is a good series, being the series that made it really popular. Sadly, The Next Generation is coming to an end soon with Picard's last mission in Star Trek Nemises (despite Q's attempts to finish his career in All Good Things parts 1 and 2). Most of you may not know this, but Picard is also a very good friend of the Uncanny X-men, meeting Storm, Wolverine, Shadowcat and Archangel from a parralel dimension, using them to help save Planet Xhaldia from a spot of bother.
Deep Space Nine is my favourite series of Star Trek though. Just about every episode made up a part of the whole story starting with the introduction of the first human Bajoran Emissary of the Prophets to Benjamin Sisko becomming a Prophet himself! It also showed that the Ferengi aren't always so bad and also enabled Michael Dorn and that bloke who plays Miles O'Brien to last another series. (Michael Dorn has played Worf in both TNG and DS9 and also played his own grandfather in Star Trek VI: Undiscovered Country).
Star Trek Voyager was also a brilliant series but came to a confusing end. Sure, Voyager went home, and the Borg Queen was supposedly destroyed, yet she managed to survive to attack 21st Century Earth in the movie First Contact (whilst played by someone else supposedly). It didn't keep my attention as much as the other modern series' though.
