Can anyone help me on this? It's been doing my nut in for a while now.

Whenever I turn my PC on, it all seems good until just before the end of the startup sequence when scandisk kicks in. Now I know this happens when you turn your PC off the wrong way, but the thing is, I shut it down correctly every time, and the bit that really gets me is that instead of a standard scan, it attempts to do a thorough check.

This is really annoying me and I was wondering what could be the cause of the problem.

Any help (especially on how to get rid of it) would be greatly appreciated

Thanks,

Jonny -V-

Heh, at my local computer fair (Wolverhampton) there's a bloke that sells proper games and utils (not copies). I was quite chuffed at getting the full home edition for £10 cheaper then the Upgrade in PCWorld.

I got it for £80, it's £180 in PCWorld. So you might want to look around.

I believe so. Have you tried letting it run through?

2K/XP like to check their filesystems every 30 mounts, and it will keep wanting to do the thorough check until you do it. Suggestion? Reboot before you go to bed and let XP do its thang.
