So yeah, the Radio One head honchos come up with this brilliant idea of having a new music station dedicated to "Street" music, which doesn't seem to include the Streets unfortunately, and lots of you have been kicking up a fuss saying it's racist because you don't get a "white" music station (pfft not going to comment there).
Well the truth is OneExtra is a joke.
That's right. A joke.
Why?
Well it's a digital-only radio station.
As far as I know the only way you can currently receive digital radio is either by a hi-fi seperate DAB receiver (which are still stupidly expensive) or by using your digital TV box to access the channel.
So, far from cruising the streets listening to this new station as TV ads might suggest, this station actually requires you to either be rich (and therefore statisically you're probably white) and have an uber-expensive hi-fi, or sit at home in front of the box listening to the radio...
... and how street is that?

i was looking forward to the station but seeing as it's predominately garage music (the poor mans rap music) i've totally gone off it. Just play all the american rap artists there's enough of them because So Solid Crew and whatever else there is over here is pure cr@p. Oooooh one of the crew went to jail what a hard band they are, they don't even know the meaning of the word. Hard is growing up in Compton, The Bronx, Harlem etc Hard is not knowing whether if you turn that corner your going to get killed, Hard is not going to jail for a little while and thinking your bad just because you did time. All of those garage pansies wouldn't last 2 seconds in Compton.
