I've had this idea for a game, and I think it's pretty original. It would be called "Creature of the Night". It would be set in modern times, with the story going a little like this....
....You wake in a cage in a zoo, naked, and with no memory whatsoever. You have to sneak around, so as to not get arrested, until you can find some clothes. Once you are dressed, you can start talking to people RPG style. You find out about a wolf attacking several people the previous night. As the day goes by and turns to night strange things begin to occur. You find yourself turning into a werewolf! As a werewolf you must satisfy your thirst for blood, but be wary of the police, who are trying to hunt you down and have you put down!
Now that you know what you are you can begin a quest to find out how to cure yourself. This would involve exploring a huge game area of a city, looking for information, and trying to find people that could help. In the evenings you would have to try to keep yourself safe, maybe by asking someone to lock you up overnight. Alternatively you could risk getting caught by going out , you could use your abilities to reach new areas of the game. Unfortunately anyone you come across, you will be powerless to stop yourself from eating them.
The game would have a time limit, find a cure before the end of the month, or you'll be doomed to live your life as a werewolf forever. During the course of the game, not only would you have to look for a cure, you'd also have to try to find out who you are, which could push the story in some interesting directions.
I think it would make a good game.
