In my opinion, there's one thing that all great games have. Fearsome villians. Remember playing Super Mario Bros for the first time, and getting to the end of a level? Bowser was waiting there, jumping up and down, breathing fire! At the end of Donkey Kong Country King K Rule runs along the deck of his ship looking really mean.
Then there are some of the RPG baddies, Dark Force/Falz from the Phantasy Star games, Lavos from Chrono Trigger. Ganon(dorf) from the Zelda games was pretty evil too, and those games had great end of level bosses too!
But here is my question, have you ever come across a bad guy so scary you haven't been able to play on?
Mine was Bubble Bobble, when my time was running out and Baron Von Blubba came after me I nearly died.....

I hated the fat guy in Sonic!
