"why i've just played timesplitters 2.........."

the ps2 version anyway (i slipped the demo in my copy of cube and bought it).

anyway heres my initial impressions:

graphics: The b*llocks! considering PS2 graphics arent usually groundbreaking they are well good, and i imagine the 'cube version will be even better.

controls: average, the cube controls should be better because the analouge sticks arent next to each other, i found the sticks to fiddly but still quite good.

gameplay: well good, it is IDENTICAL to goldeneye, you start of with a pistol and a sniper rifle, the music is the same, there are camera's and it's set on a damn. it was well fun though, picking up an AK47 and blasting everyone to pieces was great, and it wernt like timesplitters 1 where you had to pick up a breifcase and run back to the exit, it has good missions and fairly large and well layed out levels.

diffuculty: easy, it may have just been the demo but i did it first go.

A I: good... very good, infact when you see guards using melons as cover you begin to wonder how clever those people are.


Overall: this game is f*cking class. better than goldeneye? i think so, better than halo? debatable but believe me when i say EVERYONE in their right mind who owns a 'cube must buy this game.

I am also looking forward to getting this game as it will be one of the best shooters on gamecube, but not the best. Die Hard Vendetta will beat Timesplitters 2 and maybe Perfect Dark will.

I will still be getting Timesplitters 2 though.

I played the demo of the PS2 version, though it did state it was a demo made around January this year, still it plays far better than the origanal. The single player mode does anyway, it's nice to see the devlopers sort that aspect of the game out.

The weapons you could play with, where the silenced pistol, a sniper rifle, a motion traker to spot enemies and cameras, a fire extinguisher which had no real purpose in the demo and a flamethrower. It's going to be great using those in the multiplayer mode.

Can't wait for the games release, and from what I read the map editor not only lets you create you own multiplayer maps, but single player one as well. I'll be playing the game a while then.

Ah, without a doubt.

I for one, am looking forward to the end of this exciting year.

Well it did take almost everything that made Goldeneye great and make it better.

I know it didn't have the same impact as Goldeneye, but what possibly could? The sequel rarely impresses like the original does.
And Timesplitters 2 will have even less impact than Perfect Dark did.

But it'll still be good...

Never really rated Perfect Dark to be honest.

Don't get me wrong. It was a good game. But better than Goldeneye? Not IMO.

great, i new it, having already pre-ordered it and defended it against die hard and metroid prime,

Perfect Dark was what it should've been.

Yes, it sometimes suffered from a little slowdown, and yes, the Alien levels towards the end weren't right, but they're relatively minor flaws from such a great game.

Timesplitters 2 should great anyway.

Timesplitters 2 is what Perfect Dark should've been as a successor to Goldeneye IMO.

Aside from a few shimmering textures on the PS2 version. All 3 versions are pratically identical from what I've heard. Not surprisinging really, since TS2 was built on the PS2 from ground up.
