This topic comes at a time when a game, Timesplitters 2, has just got 10/10 in a PS2 mag. I fit gets the same marks in a GC and Xbox mag is yet to be seen, i think.

But for some reason i think this game will not do well on GC and Xbox for a few reasons.

Theres still a few people out there who have only one console, or 2, and they dont want to admit that another console has a better game than theirs.
Becuase of this they will more than likely not buy the game becuase it is on another format.

But say you count the best game as the one with the best review. Still you will not get an honest opnion.
GC and Xbox mags will give it a good mark, but might mark it down on purpose so another game, that is only on that format, will be better.
Why? becuase that mag will only sell to people with that console, so they wont say this is the best game on all formats. They will say this game is the best and is only on this console, in hope that people will buy the console and then the mag.

But say we forget its on all formats.
It still sont be the best.
The developers, radical dedigns isnt it?, will just port the game onto each console making little, if no added feature or tweaking of the gasphics. This will mean although it will get a 10/10 on PS2 it might get lower marks on the other console as it has more power to play with.

Thats why on the N64 some would say Zedla is the best game, and PS1 say MGS is the best as its only on that format and deisgned for that format in mind.

Hmm.. nice topic, and I understand where you're coming from. Die Hard: Vendetta's a good example (it's being designed with the GameCube in mind and then ported to other consoles, apparently). But aren't most multi-format games made for the PC, and then ported?
