"Pick-a-Chimp"

So me and a friend were playing Super Monkey Ball today...hated it at first and now it's become really great.

Anyway, played a few rounds of Monkey Bowling, Billards bla bla bla and sometimes struggled to choose a Chimp.

Now should I be doing this? In most games, each character has their own little bit of flair, something which makes them better in a more individual way.

I was just wondering though...does Super Monkey Ball do this?


Does being AiAi make you a good all-rounder?

Does being MeMe make a girl a good all-rounder?

Does being baby make you crap?

Does being GonGon make you powerful but slow?


I've seen it in other games, infact most games I've played so does Super Monkey Ball count aswell or should I just pick any ape in the future?

Personally I'd choose to be AiAi, just because he is the only bloke monkey which doesn't sound like he's on 50 fags a day.

I play as Baby... why? The reason you said is pretty accurate. If you're not that great then play Baby for the main game. All the Monkeys (I think?) have a little wispy thing of hair at the top of their heads, which shows their 'middle'. If you line this up with the middle of the platform you're on when on thin platforms you should be able to stay pretty centered. But when the camera moves about, you can't really line the wisp of hair up... But Baby is the smallest, so it's easiest to centre him/her (I'm not entirely sure of the sex of this simian...) rather than a bigger, bulkier monkey who is further off the ground (Baby crawls).

That's my theory anyway...

GonGon has always been my first choice, and he probably always will be.

I used to play with AiAi quite a bit when I first got this game, but after falling over the edge time and time again, I found his 'cry' to become much more than annoying time. after time, after time!
And the same applies to MeMe and Baby.

Dunno why I like GonGon? His grunts aren't that bad.

Yup I couldn't spell it either, even considered the Japenese dictionary.com (if it exists) but I just spelt it as MeMe not MeeMee or MiMi.

She's crap anyway.

The noise GonGon makes can be impersonated very easily and why are all these names put together? AiAi, MeMe, GonGon, Baby. Ha, you can who's the odd one out.

AiAi's the best. Baby's annoying and deserves to die same with MeMe and Gon Gon's fat and stupid.

I've considered this myself too. Can't say i've noticed anything, but then again it's been a long time since iv'e played as anyone but aiai.
Still, although they definitely have different abilities as computer-controlled monkey billiards opponents, i don't think it affects human play.
