There are various different arguments in the motor sport world that automobile racing is boring and it’s just a matter of a whole pack of cars going round a track,
And others may argue that two wheels are better than four,
Well today I am going to try and help people make their minds up once and for all.

Motor sport, whether it be to wheels or four wheels requires great skill, patience a lot of money and most important of all Teamwork.
In any form of motor sport the most important aspect is money and teamwork,
Without a good team that are willing to sacrifice almost anything to help achieve as much as possible and without that, even if you have all the money you will ever need you will achieve nothing.
As well as having a good team you need to have a sufficient amount of money and some good sponsorship deals. If you don’t have any of that then you will be unable to function as a team.

There are quite a few teams in automobile racing at the moment who are having financial difficulties, probably the most infamous being the Orange Arrows F-1 team.
They are in a fairly tight spot at the moment, being leaned on from either side, both from the press and from the FIA (The governing body of formula racing) I suppose the FIA have a right to know what’s going on, because after all we the fans and the FIA have being kept in the dark for quite a while now, so the FIA asked Orange Arrows for a full explanation as to why they haven’t been turning up at different races.
I think it’s sad that a good team like the Orange Arrows team who were doing so well at the start of the season should so suddenly find themselves in financial difficulties.
Maybe the FIA should allow teams in Arrows situation should be allowed to take out some sort of loan, which the team pay back to the FIA when they can afford to do so.
But I can’t see that happening, so I hope arrows secure this so called “American Deal”

There are many other forms of automobile racing,
I’m not going to rip into all of them but here are just a few examples,

NASCAR,
F3,
Formula Nippon championship,
British Touring Car Championship (Known as BTCC)
Not forgetting one of the most entertaining formulas to watch, Formula 3000.

Formula 3000 offers some very entertaining racing, with loads of thrills and spills Formula 3000 certainly wont see you wrong.
Unlike Formula 1 where the races are so often predictable, F3000 races are nearly always completely unpredictable I’ve never heard of a team that have dominated for a long period of time like Ferrari has in F1.
The reason for this being is that all cars must have the same chasse and the same amount of power in their engines.
This gives the all the teams an equal chance.
In my view maybe the FIA should introduce something along those lines in F1.

There’s just as much entertainment to be had on two wheels as well.
Although there aren’t as many variations to the sports it doesn’t mean that it’s not entertaining.
No way hosae, Probably the best example would be the super bike racing.
Super Bike racing is a sport, which just like any sport requires a great deal of skill patience and teamwork
At times it can be even more entertaining than F1, last year I wouldn’t have said that because at the time traction control hadn’t been properly introduced, since it’s been introduced traction control has more or less spoilt the fun of the sport.
Just like in almost all forms of motor sport the grid consists of a healthy helping of teams each with two riders.
Then after that it’s down on the teams the riders and the bikes to achieve as much as possible in one season.
There’s one thing that adds and element of excitement into any race, and that’s rain.
Rain no matter how heavy the shower can send riders pouring into the pits to change to tyres and if this happens (which it quite often does) it can change the whole race.
Rain can also send the unwary riders scuttering along into the murky depths of the tyre walls and the gravel traps.
Rain livens up any race and is enough to get any dozing of fans in their armchairs suddenly spring to life.

Super bike racing ain’t the only form of two-wheeled mayhem, there are plenty of different variations. Here are just a few,

MotoGP, (The big boys)
Trials (I’m not that keen on this one)
And there’s the one where a huge field race round a large dirt track, I can’t quite remember its name!
And there’ the Speedway GP (This is also another one of my favourites.

So there you have it two wheeled and four-wheeled action isn’t just a whole bunch of cars or bikes racing round a track, it’s about skill, teamwork, team spirit and most important of all the will to go on and achieve almost anything.
Although if you are just starting out in a racing career don’t set your standards to high as this can cause a lot of disappointment in your latter career and will most certainly affect your confidence which will probably lead to you not performing well enough. So try setting a slightly lower standard to start with. You will find it much easier this way.

I guess some folk will never like motor sport,
It’s just one of those love hate things.
If you do like motor sport though I hope this topic has helped you in deciding whether you like two wheels more or you like four wheels more.

Thanks for reading!
