I have an RJ45 crossover cable connected to an ethernet card, people tell me that is all i need but i get an error msg. "A newtork cable is unplugged". Then it enables but doesnt seem to connect with ftp.
Only reason i can think is that my Xbox isnt chipped yet, is this the case?

You can only use your Xbox and PC connection to play Xbox online (unless that's what you were trying to do). You can't actually access the HDD, just so's you know.
