With the new online add on feature coming out some time hopefully in the future for the PS2 in Europe,imagine vice city had an online feature were you start your own online scenario game.
You would be able to pick what rules you want,like the winner is the person who can car jack a certain number of different type of cars.
Armageddon
Or there could be an Armageddon mode were everyone is trying to kill each other(not litrally of course, although an orgy of blood and guts would be good) the winner is the one person left. That would be cool coz there would be so many tactics you could use, you could just get in a car that no-one would car jack, and drive the same speed as other peds so no-one would notice you and just drive all around the city until you are the victor.If you see someone approaching your car you should burn rubber and fly to the nearest main road were you can hide in the safety of traffic.Dont forget if you get arrested it counts as you being killed.
Another method for Armageddon mode would be to hijack a craft that can withstand gravity (a plane I think there called) and hover over vice city until the land people wipe each other out, but you must be wary of other air demons who may have itchy trigger fingers whilst totting their sniper rifles,You here me kid? Don't forget about the land people, they have explosive weaponry and the ones who are not so primitive can get to roof tops which means machine guns are a liability. When the the status bar says there is one person left, you could send that user a message like:
Meet me at the pier for a midday duel. Or you could hover the skies until you see someone causing havoc or acting unusual then you could just land in an alley way, appear in the crowd of peds with a hammer and give him a cold nightmare.
A final method would be to go to the store and pick up that tux you ordered and go to the casino and hang out with the upper class of vise city.When you see another gamer (you will recognise him by either his good looks or that bazooka he's carrying on his shoulder)either way pull out your chainsaw and DICE him!(I thought you'd like that one).Keep using this method until you must depart from the casino and go into the open air to finish the rest off.
Cops and Robbers
Another good mode would be to sort the gamers in to two groups one would be criminals the other police (or any other law enforcement service).And the criminals could do whatever they want to including killing the law enforcers or peds. The police however must arrest the criminals but because the crooks are so dangerous they must be killed on sight.
Endurance
The final mode would be endurance,this is were the police level starts at 6 and cannot be changed so the winner is the person who is last to get arrested or killed.This is like armageddon mode except really shorter.You could take refuge in a secret place and hint to other gamers about this cop free haven and when they arrive simply blow them away before they have time to think.
This brilliant online feature would not put back vice citys release date, as when the online accessory is released there would be a disc you could purchase for around £10-£15 which would work the same as GTA london did you simply insert the new disc then Vice city then the new one again,after that you simply connect to the internet and play with your buddys online.

this is a good idea having a GTA death match on-line. At college me and my class mates sometimes played GTA 2 death match over the college network and it was a right laugh trying to run each other over and blasting thier veicles with the bazooka was so satisfying. >:)

I think it would be better if players around the world could just explore the city at wil and cgoose their own poaths. A bit like some online games on the PC, where you can fully explore cities and enviroments with a choice to do what ever you want.
For example, you could settle down and open a shop to sell supplies to other players, or open other kinds of buisinesses, or maybe you could just hook up with a few other players and complete objectives in a team.
I think it would also be cool if there where gangs in the game and you could choose which one you sided with. Of course this means there would be allot of people fighting each other because they are from diffesrent gangs.
Obviously there is allot of potebtial for GTA online, I just hope the developers do it well when the time comes, instead of just creating bog standard Deathmatch and Capture the Flag style games.

I've never won a GAD for a topic before, only reviews.
But I do have a good idea for GTA (not online) where some bloke asks you to get him cars with certain number-plates (individualised ones). They could be on any car, anywhere in the city, so as soon as you see them, you've got to nick them and take them to him.

OMG, this like totally desrves a GAD. It made me laugh, cry (with laughter) and totally excited me for October 22nd. cant wait to play the game. even though there isnt an onlione bit, theres still a chainsaw!!!
