Here's a music review of 'Ignorance Is Bliss' by a band called Face To Face...

Face To Face are best known for their pop-punk sound. So this album may come as a bit of a surprise. It's far from the average pop-punk stuff Face To Face usually put out. Although the pop-punk roots of Face To Face are still evident, they are twisted into something wholly different. I suppose you could label this album emo with its pained vocals, some ambient backgrounds and guitar work more complex than the average pop-punk tunes.

This may sound like bad news to long time Face To Face fans, but I find this album is very refreshing. The vocals are mostly quite soothing, the lyrics emotional, and while musically most tracks aren't very slow or overly mellow, the album still feels relaxing and uplifting. There are also some harder edged tracks too, 'I know what you are' and '(a)pathetic' both use hasher vocals and heavier tunes while still maintaining the style of the rest of the album.

If you like other Face To Face stuff, you may well like this album too, but don't expect the usual pop-punk fare, and give it a little time to get used to it. A great album with a calming effect that I suspect many fans of emo would like a lot. Perhaps a bit of an acquired taste though...

Thank you, goodnight.
