Have I gone mad? Well, that's debatable to say the least, but no, let me explain all about my Las Ketchup adventure.
While out in Spain this year, there was one song that you just couldn't get away from no matter how much you tried. It was called Asereje - The Ketchup song, and trust me, it's addictive. Through all the bars, nightclubs and constantly on TV and radio this song would be playing over and over again (or so it seemed). Yes, I don't really understand enough Spanish at present to understand the lyrics of songs in any great detail, but it doesn't matter here, as the chorus on this song doesn't make any sense in any language!
The song is actually about a guy in Spain who hears an English song in the disco, but doesn't know the lyrics or dance, so he makes up his own. This forms the strangly addictive chorus of the tune which everyone soon starts singing along to and doing the dance. Yes, that's right, it's another Macarena.
The band are 3 daughters of a famous flemenco dancer, Tomate, hence their afinity with ketchup. Their first album is out in Spain, entitled Hijas del Tomate and it's already climbed the chart over there. Now Sky are showing the video on 'The Box' channel (just after MTV and between the other music channels if you need to find it). I'm pretty sure there is a good chance that this little number will make it in to our charts as well.
You have been warned folks, now I'm going back to waving my hands over my head and doing a funny wobbly thing with my legs (and it's not the drink...honest).
> My god. It's number 2 in the Box's chart.
Nothing to do with me...no, sir, honest. :-)
My wife loves it.
> Anyone remember the Hamster song? I downloaded that a little while ago

> school in your mouth all over again.
Yeah i remember that song that was great, think i might download it again in a minute.
> I think I know which song you mean, it was on all the time when i went
> to Spain, it is so crap and annoying.
