They were never great games, were they?
The good ones always, to me at least, did manage to capture that pick up and play factor though. Especially in multiplayer.
In fact i'd go so far as to say the only problem with the multiplayer was that everyone was always of too different levels of ability. Nobody likes getting a repeated trashing, and the novelty of the walkover wears thin eventually too.
But if you have a good game and someone of the right level of ability, snooker and pool games are great fun.
See where i'm going with this yet? Ever since you saw the title? :^)
Because of the nature of the gameplay, a short time lag between one player taking a shot and the data passing through a network to an opponent isn't important. Not much gameplay data has to be transferred either, direction, spin and power of the shot and maybe a random factor or two. From this, the computer can determine and replicate the outcome of any shot.
And there's time to type something to your opponent without having lost the game by the time you hit 'send'.
So the game is very online-friendly.
Playing online, you'd be able to go head to head with people of similar skill ratings, and you could mix in doubles and big games of killer to add more players and a larger social side. There could even be teams, equivalent to those which would play in a regular pub league.
Forget an online perfect dark sequel, i'm holding out for VPO

It's a basic 2D game, but it does require a lot of skill and if you play enough, you'll get better and manage to improve your ranking. You can also take part in tournaments.

I actually enjoyed virtual pool but i found that after a while it became really easy to know where the ball was going to go, but i used to play shots inbetween somiething else i was doing like d/l a file so i was never bored.

Snooker is a game that with out that would be useless, in footy games its the same easy to pick then you can start to learn more, harder and better looking tricks and flicks.

What never!!!!!!!!, lol.
Online is great as you could play people with the same ability as yours, although some one could say they are bad at it then they start and they wipe the flooor in what ever game your playing.
Sure some games have the ability to give you more points/life but that is really hard to judge.
Bots are good, if your good at a game and your mate isnt you could have a level 1 bot when he could have a level 9.
One thing i would really like ot see online is a champion ship kinda thing where better players get further or a league table so you will play people better and worce than yourself.
Or they could have it that you join and make a player and your put into an arena then once you reach so many kills or medals or kills or what ever you can think to tell how they are good they are put into a diffrent arena with players that are the same, and it continues like that so your in the same place with more or less the same skil as you, but you would also have to be able to go down.
