This has come about because of burnout, i love the game but i find that if i come 1st im timed out or if im 2nd i come in with 20 secs to spare but doesnt go through because i need to come 1st.
This really bothers me because i see this as taking the fun out of the game, if i get beaten by the other racers i can understand but when its becuase of a time limit it gets me mad.
I find this in most racing games and infact the only racing games i like are when there is no timelimit.
I find burnout a good game when i forget about the time limit and i enjoy every minute.
When i remember the time limit i start to forget to enjoy it and concentrate on the time too much.
Some games, not just racers, have time limits but very rare to have them through out the game, i can stand this but all the time it gets boring.
This also might be why i like shooters as you can take your time and work out what you will do, go in all guns blazing shooting such and such first or taking out one guard with out the rest noticing then another and so on.
Talking about games i like and dislike, id like to mention RPGs.
Most people if not all people agree that zelda and final fantasy are RPGs and the diffrence being that you need to gain exp points in FF.
once again i feel this can take your time up spoil the game and also make the game too easy.
You can get so far then go no further because your not strong enough, or from the start spend days just leveling up and then walking thought the game with your level 99s.
This i think takes the challenge out of the game.
I find zelda much better as tatics and skill are the things that get you to the end of the game.
cheers for reading i was wondering if you people hate some games and love others? and if so why?
p.s. my eyes are really hurting because i just been playing burnout and when i concentrate i bring my eyes brows together and now mu eyes are hurting and i cant see well so thats why some of the words and grammer are wrong, soz.
On the original topic.. tell me about it! I've just been playing Tony Hawk's 3 and it's so frustrating when you've just gotten into your rhythm and your two minutes is up. It takes all the fun out of exploring and changing and rethinking your tactics.
However, it is necessary in some games (Burnout, Pikmin and Majora's Mask for example) as it's a large part of the gameplay, and implements and element of panic and also gives the game a fast pace.
>It was just too easy!
im stuck on the 2nd from lst championship bit, im never any good at racing games.
And I agree, time limits just get on my nerves.
If it didn't have the checkpoint system, it would have been one hell of a lot easier and would have made playing the game boring.
