Gamepark's GP32, which has already become a hit in Korea, is set to make it's European debut at London's ECTS next week. According the Codejunkies, it will be released before Christmas this year but no price or software support details have been announced.
The GP32 is claimed to be the worlds first handheld gaming console to have an inbult MP3 player, however external devices can be bought to be used with the Game Boy Advanced to play MP3 files. Up to four players can play against each other within a 10 metre radius (long cables or radio signal?) and the system can playback in 16-bit stereo sound. It also features a USB slot for connecting to PCs for Internet use.
I'm actually suprised copyrights haven't been broken though. From the picture on Codejunkies (http://www.codejunkies.com/images /gp32%20-%20small.gif) it looks very similar to the Game Boy Advance. 2 shoulder buttons, and A an a B button, the only major difference in the picture is the stereo speakers, the Start and Select buttons and the shape - being more square.
According to Codejunkies, Bandai are also preparing to release the Wonderswan Colour in Europe.
So will the Game Boy Advance stay the top of the league when it comes to handheld gaming? After all, the Game Boy Advance still allows you to play a massive back-catalogue of games! It's stayed the more popular in Japan, but what will the European gamers think?
So i brought an Xbox, Could'nt be any happier.
Anyway this new "handheld", a rumour? It might not do too good over here....
Take the Neo Geo for example....
This new handheld had better have a couple of Ace's up it's sleeve if it's going to deal with the likes of Golden Sun 2...
