"The Guru"

Went to see The Guru last night, and I laughed out loud on several occasions.

It's about an Indian guy who moves to America to make it in the movies. After finding he's not cut out for porn, a sequence of events occur that lead to him becoming a sex guru.

Only he's obtaining his knowledge from a porn star, played by Heather Graham, who is telling him what she does thinking he wants to be in porn movies, rather than his guru stuff.

Very entertaining, very funny, but it IS a romantic comedy, so you get a bunch of the sentimental tosh too, but it's not too thick here.

Worth watching if you want a laugh, especially if you have a lady friend with you.

Now is this supposed to be Hollywood doing a Bollywood film and getting it wrong, or a parody of Bollywood?

Either way, it sounds like fun, though all I've heard so far are average reviews.

I saw this film on friday but didnt think it was gud when I came out but now I might see it again if possible.

As for Battlefield Earth, I love the way Sky tries to shill poop films. In it's description for BE, it says "Ambitious" - roughly translated to "they tried to make a good film, but failed miserably"

It's actually very funny, mainly through being so bad. You get to hear Johnny Travolta doing an "evil laugh", which sounds camp as a row of tents, and also the bad guys can't walk properly because in order to appear 9ft tall the actors had to walk on stilts. So instead of being scary evil aliens, they look like crippled effeminate aliens, which kind of undermines the film as a whole.

It also has ludicrous plot lines that make no sense at all. In fact sod plot lines, it has a ludicrous plot that makes no sense at all.

We've got battle field earth on video but my dad watched and advises no1 to watch it soooooo ill take his advice now thanks to you.

As for Black Knight, it is allegedly one of the worst films ever. Now, I've seen Battlefield Earth, and that would take some beating, but I might pop along to Black Knight just in case it reaches the same level of laugh-out-loud badness..

Hmm, might be worth taking my friend Joanne then. It'll seem odd if I ask her now, so I'll wait till her boyfriend buzzes off to Leeds

I saw this film along with black night and reign of fire last night. I thought that reign of fire was only just better but the guru beated black night, it was just another guy travels back in time film and becomes sum sort of hero.

yep its a romantic comedy. If you want heather graham more, its back to boogie nights for you im afraid.
