As YH pointed out, I find myself veering less and towards the SR forums lately, tis true.
And when I do, I mainly go to the movies and life forums.
For the simple fact, and take offence if you want I couldn't care less, the notion of talking about computer games with teenagers bores me.
Now that's not supposed to sound patronising or rude so don't take it that way. And I know a couple of whippersnappers make jokes about me being an old fogey but it's true to an extent.
I'm 30 next year and the average age here is what? 15/16?
Try to see it from my perspective:
I've been talking about games for 20 years, that's longer than a hella lot of you have been alive.
And I'm pretty much talked out about them.
Especially when people are unable to talk/perceive irony/think and I end up getting into a screaming match with a kid about computer games?
Who cares if I think Nintendo make games for babies? I spewed a whole load of words at reams of kids because I dared to criticise a console?
Big deal.
And don't start "I'm not a kid", because you are.
Been there, had the arrogance of 15-18 when you think you invented boozing/shagging/thinking you rule because you drank 2 pints and touched a boob at a disco on Friday.
When I come here now, I want to talk about the things that interest me. The things that matter to me.
Life mainly. To try and articulate experiences and emotions that I deal with to try and make sense of life.
I don't care how many polygons a console has, or if X thinks "Da Sony Crew is better than da Nintendo Possy".
It matters not to me if someone thinks that so-and-so is a spammer.
But, and here's the difference, I don't make a point of interrupting someone's thread to shout "YOU ARE WRONG" at them.
No.
I want to discuss the pressures of paying the bills and how it feels after a day at work being surrounded by people and having to worry about how much my MOT is going to cost me and rent and blah blah blah.
On the occasions I do post in chat, it's mainly that - CHAT. Be it a spoof (of which there have been too many lately and most suck by the way), or some mindless crap, just posting something to make myself laugh.
But I also understand that things like console wars and which game is best matters to some of you. And I stay out of those threads. Just as I don't go into the Nitendo Forum, or Sony or Wrestling.
Because I have no interest or I don't know what I'd be talking about.
But time and time again I find myself defending my views against loud-mouthed, know nothing children.
And I'm fed up with it.
Being a Notable doesn't help either, because people seem to think we should "earn it" or "Prove why we are".
If you do think that, then kindly grasp your ankles, take a breath and ram your head as far up your pipe as you can get it.
We got elected (or at least I did) despite making no campaigns, asking nobody, getting a "forum vote" or anything else.
People liked my posts, christ knows why, and voted for me.
I didn't ask for it, but I appreciate it from those that did vote for me.
It's a mark of distinction, a way to let you know that some actually bother to read your crap.
This is a huge rambling post with no end.
So I'll end it here.
Whether I post 150 times a day or twice a year has nothing to do with "Notable" status.
It's what I post that makes me recognised by my peers.
And the opinions of screamy chimps that can't even agree on a console bears no relevance.
I'm posting less here because I'm getting fed up with the same old same old rubbish.

I'm not saying every post but mine is crap. I'm saying I'm losing interest in 95% of this place and that's down to me and what I want to think about and care about.
Tonight I've had to deal with a death, organising a date, talking to record labels, picking up some cymbals, trying to burn 11 CDs for people and almost running out of fags.
Tell me again why I should care about which console has a better controller?

Seriously, I still enjoy games, so I reckon it's nice to post something about them every now and then.
I like writing spoofs, normally because some pun comes into by head and I have to extinguish it.
Writing stuff gets me through the day and stops me smashing my head through the monitor. So what if I can't post it until the evening, it was the writing it that got me through the day without going out of my head.
I enjoy these forums, if I want to watch a film that's a little different then someone will usually recommend something in the movies forum. Bits of information that I actually do care about (release dates, features etc) are often posted on the gaming forums.
Sometimes it's good to get your feelings out on the life forum.
I do it for me. I hope people enjoy what I write, because writing is what I do when I'm me. I don't keep coming back here because I'm 'notable', and neither should anyone else.
We have no responsibility, if you're tiring of it, any of you, ask why are you still here? Is it a good reason?

Your right, many topics have been talked to death, but what can you do?
As time goes on we get less to talk about and then we cover the same ground again. Admittedly it comes from different angles some times, but its still trodden gound.
