A bootleg is unreleased music, to put it bluntly. If a band hasn't commercialy released something, and it finds its way onto CD, then it's a bootleg.
Usually, this stuff is live. I prefer live music to studio stuff. Dunno why, but I do.
So...(the point of that babble was to make this post longer, and not just a one sentance topic) - anyone up for a bit of bootleg trading?
From their website, they let fans tape from the soundboard and stick them on their download section, as well as demos of tracks/unused studio cuts.

Yeah, I do like Offspring, though I prefer their stuff pre-Americana. Also, no I have no Offspring bootlegs. The only Bootlegs I have are those I mentioned earlier (the two Bad Religion live/demo CDs). Although I do have one Offspring Live track off a single. It's of 'All I Want' (one of their best songs in my opinion)
2) Anyone, being people, do you have any Offspring/Garbage/Placebo bootlegs?

That's because most bands are opposed to their material being recorded and then circulated, why? Because, of course, they get no money from it. So recorders have to be hidden at the concerts which leads to crap sound quality. However, Counting Crows actively encourage bootlegging of their concerts so recordings of their live stuff is always excellent quality :-D
+ anyone seen the 'new' Green Day CD 'Shenanigans'? It's a load of B-sides and rare cuts. But I've seen loads of bootlegs on Ebay for years that have been about 20ish tracks of GD B-sides, live songs, covers, etc. Prob has all the shenanigans material + more... whether the quality is as good is yet to be seen...
Anyway... I'm not a big bootleg CD fan... Live material is usually rubbish recording quality unless done specially for a live CD with proper equipment and that.
