Nemesis is going to be played by...

...Eric Mabius, aka Matt from the original (you know, the dude who got put in the Nemesis programme).

So, it must mean this: in RE2, they inject him with something which turns him into Nemesis. Damnit, this means Matt's gonna have to die in the sequel :(

In my opinion, they would've been better off with a CGI Nemesis, but I suppose it should be good.

Very interesting...

I saw the film on the day of general cinema release and I loved it! I think that the laser scene could've been better if you saw more gore, because when Kaplan looks down on the floor to get the bag in the laser room, all you see is a pile of silver stuff that doesn't even look like pieces of a person. Bloody scientific laser sealing up wounds before they bleed...

Apparently, Anderson is going to cast Milla Jovovich as Jill Valentine, but may get her to interact with Alice throughout the film. I don't know how they could do that without tarnishing it and making it less authentic, so I hope it continues from the film, or it will seem strange to me, as they did a new storyline for the first film. Taking characters from the game for the second won't make sense unless Alice is in it again.

And as for Nemesis, as long as they make everything look true to the game, it should be great. I don't think they should've cast Matt for the role - he is a bit small. I just expected them to get some small time actor with an insane growth spurt to play him. I was looking at my DVD which I obtained off the net and in the last scene where the newspaper hangs, it says 'Another victim dies' and something about S.T.A.R.S. I thinik that the paper was talking about Nemesis slaying some more victims perhaps? Also, Nemesis used to work for S.T.A.R.S in the game, so I think it's safe to say it will base itself around the game.

Yes, thats why they said at the end of the film, take him to the nemesis program, also got a copy from abroad. The film was average, the opinion of most of the repliers so far. The storyline was average, the acting average, and going with public opinion the effects were pretty bad. I agree with the 18 certificate, the games a 15, 18 in some countries, and it would be well worth increasing the gore to match the game with the risk that less people would see the film.

The film is based ENTIRELY on the game. The characters i agree need to be the same, and the usual suspect monsters were great to see on screen, but the film lacks the finesse of the game. The door slaming open in Resi Evil Nemisis scared the pants off me, even though it was an instant scene, the fear lasted for 15 minutes into the game. The horror factor was evident in the zombies and the lazers cutting that bloke up, cool scene by the way, but it was missing the "make my shorts brown" feel of the games.

Nice try, but lets hope the second one is an improvement.

The first Resi is an alright film, it just copies allot of ideas from the game it's based on and just about every popular action horror film out there at the moment. As has been said, it's not gory enough, and contains some really laughable special effects, and on the whole the film just doesn't at once feel scary, which is what it should do, being a supposed horror film.

Anyway, I think the sequel will be better in scale, and hopefully CGI effects, but I'm not expecting much. I think Paul Anderson is just going to copy more ideas from the game Nemesis instead of putting in more of is own. It's already proved popular with fans with him putting in familiar locations and creatures from the game in the first film, so why wouldn't it work again?

I have watched Resi Evil about 5 times and must honestly say it is well good but they should have made it to an 18 and made it more gorier. How have I seen it that many times? I had it on DVD bout 3 months ago from Thailand. Perfect quality. I'm also very happy As yesterday (fri) I met New Found Glory and got their autographs as well as Kennedy Soundtrack.

Yes, I've heard the concept for the second film will be very much like the game it's stolen the titles of. Aparantly Aderson will direct the film as part prequel and part sequel to the game Resident Evil 3: Nemisis, which is wierd because theat game itself is part prequel and part sequel to Resi 2. I'm confused already, god knows what the films going to be like.

The CGI Licker in the first film totally destroyed any tension that had built up before hand. It looked stupid, and I expect a CGI Nemesis would equally look as stupid and unbelievable.
