..okay, it has jack all to do with life...or, maybe it does. When I'm feeling down, I always recite this poem through my head. I told it to all my mates at school...that's how good it is. Whenever I say it (in my head), I smile. So, here it is...a poem, you may have heard, which has been told/passed through my family for five or so generations.

One fine day in the middle of the night,
Two dead men got up to fight.
Back to back they faced each other,
Drew their swords and shot each other.
The blind man saw it, the death man heard it,
The man with no legs ran to get the fire engine,
Which was drawn upon by two dead horses,
Ran over a dead cat and half killed it.
This story was told by three men, sitting on the corner of a round table eating cabbage pie.

That sums up my happiness in 85 words (accepting any SPaG mistakes in there)

What do you say/do to bring happiness when you're down?

Cheers for reading (if you did)

i have heard that one before, but here is a poem that has been passed down generations of my family and I have never come across anyone who has heard of it:

Peter's Pop has a lollypop shop
And he keeps it nice and trim
Peter's Pop has a lollypop shop
and we all know it keeps him
Pretty girls all stop at the lollypop shop that is owned by Peter's Pop
What a lot of lollypops
At Peters's Pop's Lollypop shop

when i'm feeling down i always put some music on. When i was younger if i was upset about others talking behind my back i always put on the beastie boys which had a great lyric in one of their songs (can't remember off top of head) that went like this

*alot of people get jealous, start talking about me
but that's because they haven't got a thing to say*

just basically saying people are only talking about you because they haven't got anything interesting to say but they've gotta say something. Made me feel much better.
For any other situation i was in, Mo Money Mo Problems by Puff Daddy and Ma$e went straight on and cheered me up so much

I learned the same rhyme at primary school however it stopped at "Drew their swords and shot each other"

Nice one Ros...never heard it before. I recognise it from somewhere though, so there may be modyfied versions out there. lalakersrule, I like playing Creed's 'My Sacrafice' when I'm down...the lyrics are so fitting.

I Listen to Counting Crows (admittadly I do this pretty much continually anyway however...) Any of there songs seem to not cheer me up, but to make me forgot for a while, maybe till I sleep and I always feel better in the morning.

Christ, my SPAG was appalling in that post.

I listen to Counting Crows (admittedly I do this pretty much
continually anyway however...) Any of there songs seem to not cheer me
up, but to make me forget for a while, until I sleep: I always
feel better in the morning, no matter how down I am.

If I'm in school or somewhere I just sing Crows songs to myself.

Do people look at you as if you're weird? I sometimes get that when I sign to myself. :-D

Nope, they all know how much I love my music. And even if they did I wouldn't care.
