I've just tested my mate's DVD Region X with a Region 1 DVD and it worked but was in black and white. I was using the scart lead I bought for my Playstation One. We then tested it on his console and it did the same. He is using the Scart thing he got with the PS2.

Is there a special SCART lead we should be using or is it a problem with not having an NTSC compatible TV?

Thanks, Ben

Do you have it through your VCR if so that's your problem, you need it straight to TV.

I found the same problem while using DVD region X with the TV in my room...came out in B/W while using Region 1 DVDs. Although I found that buying and using the "ultimate RGB scart" sorted it out.

Sr sell it for £12.99

Yeah, its the TV. If you remember, I had the same problem with my NTSC games.

What you can do:

Either buy a new TV which would set you back a few hundred........ or.... you could buy an NTSC - PAL converter for about a tenner.

I got one (converter) and it works fine.

Have a look on eBay for a 'PS2 NTSC converter' or something along those lines.

Its the TV, you need an NTSC compatible TV to play Region 1 DVD's in colour...
