I recall buying my N64 and Mario 64 with fondness,not least because it was such a revolution-the first proper 3D platformer and one of the beast games ever.On buying my gamecube,I expected more of the same,but I have to admit I've been disappointed so far:Smash Bros.,wave race and rouge leader are all good games,But they don't really offer anything new or ground breaking. I would say the only true original title on gamecube is monkey ball.Even mario sunshine isn't totally original. To me,the main difference is that mario now caries a back pack.Shouldn't we expect more?
Mario Sunshine was never going to be as revolutionary as Mario 64, because Mario on the N64 lept from 2D to 3D.
