a good idea for a grand theft auto game would be GTA: sopranos edition, it could have missions based on ones in the sopranos sereise, the people that you would go and see for a misson would be a charecter from the sopranos, you would play as tony soprano ect.

any other ideas about other gta games or the one i made up post them here.

I would like the idea of going around in a group like in GTA2 and having a small gang to help attack people and stuff like that

I think that there should be dogs, which you can take to the chop shop and sell them to Wimpy.
That would make an interesting side business.

I think you should be able to customise your own cars, like steal a Dodge Pickup, drive to a local chop shop and order new parts for it like a turbo, new tyres, better gearing and so on, so that you could upgrade the performance of the vehicles in the same way you would with Gran Turismo 3.

They could add better rewards for the missions, in that instead of just money or a new weapon, you actually gain 10% more health or 5% better natural defence or 15% better accuracy to help get you through the next missions, the same as you'd level up your characters in some RPGs.

They could make the weapons themselves upgradable, so you could start off with a basic Luger pistol, find a magazine for it that can hold 14 bullets instead of 9, add a silencer later on, then a retractable shoulder grip to attach to the butt of the gun for better aiming. In the same way shotguns could use different ammo, Uzi's could have rate of fire increases and go from semi- to full-automatic, baseball bats could have nails hammered through the end once you'd found the nails.

They could have changes of clothing, so your character could blend in more to his surroundings, perhaps even disguise himself as a Diablo gang member to help complete a mission or even impersonate a Police Officer to help evade pursuit.

They could add multiplayer functions so you could have a friend tag along with you in coop mode to help take out more baddies in one go, or you could both just see who could steal and trash the most cars in a period of time, or you could just grab a couple of Sniper rifles and see which of you can take each other out first, using the whole city as cover.

They could add online functions, so the city isn't just populated by computer controlled characters, everyone in the game could be played online by someone at the end of a PS2 controller, so you never know what's going to happen next time you try to mug someone, they may fight back with more ferocity than you expected.
