I was sitting on the toilet the other day, doing a massive Al Snow (as Mick Foley likes to call it), and I got thinking (surprisingly).

Velocity and Heat. These shows get small ratings, and wrestlers become unhappy if they're always on them. Some say it's not even decent TV time, because the majority of fans don't watch them.

And there's always one or two matches on RAW and SmackDown, which seem a little pointless to be honest.

So my idea is: the WWE Seasonal Championship. An awful name, but the best I can think of at the moment.

Imagine this if you will. Think of the Premiership, but with wrestlers. 20-30 wrestlers in one league, facing each-other once/twice over a period a year (going from WrestleMania to WrestleMania.)

From now on, you = the WWE. You could enter a few main eventers, ones that you know won't be the Undisputed Champion in the next year. Then you could enter tag team wrestlers like the Hardys, Dudleyz, APA, Billy and Chuck (obviously some have split now, but it would be interesting to watch partners face each-other in bouts.) Then you could add people like Test, Lance Storm, Scotty 2 Hotty etc, and maybe some new talent as well.

This could provide for interesting matches. Rey Mysterio vs Kane for instance; two completely different styles. Face vs face matches and heel vs heel matches. Before and after each match (all Velocity and Heat matches could be season matches, and you could have a couple on RAW and Smackdown too), the announcers would give a quick rundown of the current table, who's in the lead etc. You could even mention home advantages when Y2J wrestles in Canada, for example.

The winner gets a massive 'cash' bonus, and a trophy/belt with their name encarved on it forever. Obviously, they'd have to give it back if they don't successfully defend it during the next season. Wrestlers could be relegated, and new talent 'promoted' if you will. You could have upsets, and even massive feuds like Rock vs Hogan at WrestleMania could have added importance by being a league match, like Man Utd vs Liverpool in the Premiership.

The belt can't be defended like normal belts which adds importance, and it should actually be recognised throughout the next year unlike the KOTR.

It would be a massive task, especially with the roster split now in force, but with supposedly the best storywriters in the business the WWE should be able to implement it successfully.

Unfortunately, I can't see it ever happening. But one day I'd like to just suggest it to the writers and Vince McMahon, and see how many flaws they could find in it. {:)

Just an idea I wanted to express to you. Any feedback would be nice, hopefully with some more ideas. We could even try and use it in SRW at one point, but it would take a helluva lot of organisation.

Oh, and more thing. Scotty would win it. {:)

Thanks for reading, Ant.

Humm...you haven't liked many of my ideas much lately, eh Herc? {:)

But anyway, so what? It's the same with the KOTR, and for that matter, every match. We actually wouldn't know who would win the league, and youldn't you still class it as a shock if say, The Rock lost to Matt Hardy? I think the whole idea of a league table gives all sorts of new opportunities, would hopefully give the ratings a bit of a boost, and I think would also add to a lot of the matches on Heat/Velocity.

And everyone knows Liverpool are going to win the Premiership this year.

Yeah but, remember, the matches are rigged and planned and everything so they know who is going to win. A table like the premiership is matches where its not rigged and nobody knows who is going to win.

But other than that, it sounds 'alright' I spose.

Yeah, we could start planning it in September when we're all back and 'refreshed' from our holidays.

...well actually, most people usually feel more tired after their holidays than they were when they left, but ah well.

I actually really like this.

I think we should do it with our CAWs though.
