It's a shame none of us will be around when the Sun dies in 5,000,000 years. I'd love to see that!
Actually, there's no force pushing us away from the sun... It's just the Earth has enough velocity perpendicular (at 90 degrees) to the Suns pull, so we continually fall 'into' the Sun, but since it's a round shape, we always miss it and just go round ion a big circle...

It is! That's what gravity is all about! The Sun's gravitational pull is pulling us towards the sun - at the same time there's a force pushing us away from the sun at such an angle that we spin round it instead - orbit.
