I saw on a T.V. program that there ws a company developing VR aircraft cockpits that help train pilots. This is a very expensive and hi tech thing. If the pilot moves his head then then the VR world inside the headset changes to show the new view and so when the pilot moves his head (it also tracks his eyes to show where he's looking) it is as if he is in reality.
I think that this could well ben the future of gaming aswell. If for example you are playing a Fighting game then you could be on the battle field looking down the scope aiming at the enemy then see them falling as if you were really there. The original concept of the pilot could also be used to make games more thrilling and intense and could you think what it would be like being shot down and then franticly looking for the eject button and then being shot out of the plane as you see it burning to the groung as if you were really there. Football Manager games where you are sitting on the bench and are able to shout and screem at your players telling them exactly what to do instead of doing it on a screen. You could actually be there and jump and scream when your team scores and see the fans cheering as if you were actually there. Can you imagine playing games like Metal GEar Solid adn it feeling like you were actually there working out every move seeing the guards move around right in front of you, how exciting could that be.
If this were to become a reality in say 10 years time when we have sufficient power of computers and all computers have lots and lots and lots of memory it could revolutionise computer gaming forever and take gaming to another level entirely. Forget 3D its as if you are there Mass production VR could it be the way forward?
(just thought of something. A F1 game where you are in the car and seeing everything first hand.)
What an experience all of this could be it's mind blowing.
