Saying that though. Cymbals aren't *as* expensive as they used to be.

To completely replace all my cymbals would cost me a shade over a £1000, which isn't too bad. Been using Sabian Pro's for a while, but there showing there age and are beginning to split. So I've been looking at some A Custom Zildjian cymbals.

The obvious choice is the Pearl Export - that's pretty much everyone's starter kit.
I wouldn't look at spending much more than £350 for a first kit in case you don't take to it.

First kit I ever had was a "Diamond" 5-piece, cost me £250 and was ok for what it did.

Now I've tried a lot of different kits and played in a few bands, I eventually found my ideal dream-kit.
It's a Mapex M-Series, honey-maple finish jazz kit.
Absolutely beautiful and I've yet to ever see another band with one.

Mapex rule.
As do Tama.

Pearl is a good, standard kit to use.

You can get a Pacific or Hohner kit for around £250.

Alternatively, you can get a Pearl Export for around £400 now.
