Firstly I am not a gaming expert but got board and wanted to write something, so if it isn’t the best piece of writing you've ever read please don’t complain about it. Some facts will most probably be wrong but it's not like anything perfect.
Secondly I am going to post this in the Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft section so that no one can say that I am bias for simply putting it in one separate section where everyone will automatically go for the relevant console.
Lastly everything which I type is my personal opinion so please do not get too offended if you disagree.
Gamecube.
The latest next generation console, with great games like star wars rogue leader and super monkey ball which I personally like, it is no wonder quite a lot of people have gone out and bought this good console. It has great graphics so there is another advantage for this console. The Gamecube is also a small console which gives it an advantage if you ask me over the Xbox and the Ps2 because lets face it, if you can get a console with lots of power which is small, easy to store and has good games it has got an advantage over the bigger consoles. It has some great games out such as:
Luigis mansion.
Star wars.
ISS 2.
Pikmin (strange but fun).
Spider man.
SSX Tricky.
Super Smash Bros.
Sonic.
Wave race.
Most people would most probably buy this console just to play these games, can't blame them that much though can you? Compared to the Snes and the N64 I’ll say that Nintendo have come on leaps and bounds with this new console. The price is descent as well compared to what the Ps2 and Xbox cost on their release dates, that would of been a great selling factor for them if you've got a strict budget, if you've got limited money your going to go for a new console, good games and excellent prices. The console has got a powerful engine and so you can expect it to perform good no matter what kind of game you want to go on, Nintendo have had a while to think of ways in which to improve their consoles over a period of time and I think that all that thinking has been put to good use in the creation of the Gamecube. With the plans revealed to go online than this is going to be a great console once people can, but will it not matter since the Ps2 and the Xbox will be as well. Personally I do not spend that much time on my games now but if I could get online the maybe I will have to put a couple of extra hours into my games. It will be good though to be able to play someone else from the opposite side of the world. The sound on the Gamecube is good as well, I guess it would have to be though to fit in with the graphics of the games. Another good thing is that the Gamecube come with an option of a different colour, black, gold, silver, pink/red and purple. Overall if you were a fan of the Snes and N64 then you should buy a Gamecube. I have not written that much about the Gamecube because I don't own one but from what I've read and seen about this console I'm pretty sure that this section was a bit accurate.
Ps2.
This is the oldest console out of the ones which I am going to talk about. It was released in 2000, October 26 (North America). It should the fastest out of any console which has ever been made. It was also the first console to have a built in DVD player at 4X, the Xbox has one aswell but you have to pay to get it, while the Ps2 came with it automatically. As with the Xbox this console also cost about £300 pounds each when it came out, I thought this was reasonable at the time though because it had a DVD player built into it and because it was and still is a next generation console. Sony have had a lot of success and made a hell of a lot of investiments from both the Ps1 and the Ps2 because even a couple of years on since making the Ps1 it is still selling good. Face it if your a parent and your kid wants a computer you arent going to spend 200, 300 quid on one little toy are you? No your going to buy them a much cheaper one, thats one of my suggestions of why it's still selling good. There is a wide range of brilliant games out for and coming out for the ps2, which is one of the reasons why so many people want one. Here is a short list of some of those games:
Gta 3 (also a best seller).
Metal gear solid 2.
Gta Vice city (I'm looking forward to this one).
WWE Smackdown 4.
Medal of honor frontline.
Final fantasy X.
Spiderman (also on Gamecube).
Grand turismo concept.
Tiger woods.
With this line up of games out to buy no wonder this is such an excellent console, I own one but do not go on it that much but some games on it are so good you think your board of it but you just end up starting it all again, I got Gta 3 this Christmas and I started going on it this morning (13th October). That is one great game by the way and I can't wait till the Vice city game comes out, it will be fantastic if they have motorbikes in it, that is one thing which lets Gta 3 down if you ask me, many people agree aswell. This console was worth the money when it first came out and many people still agree that it is. I do. I am most probably not as much of fan of the Ps2 as other people but it is still my fave, although I am trying to decide if I should trade it in for an Xbox, if you've got any comments please reply, well that’s if you could be bothered to have read this far. If you want my view on if you should buy this console then my answer is YES! because it will give you as much enjoyment as you could possibly need, timed by 10.
Xbox.
This console came out between the Ps2 and the Gamecube, two of the best consoles ever brought out in a lot of peoples minds, Bill Gates and Microsoft created it. It has Dolby surround sound built in, the kinda sound you listen to at cinema or on DVD's. It has the best graphics compared to the other two consoles and no doubt is worth the money. Two things, which I personally think let this console down is the hugh, bulky size of the thing and the lack of games, or is that just me. Personally I've only played Halo once and once was enough for me to just want one of the things so I could sit on a chair, put the speakers on, turn the tele volume up and press the power button. I envy the hell out of people who have got the game but I now have convinced my self to save for life (I’m only 15) so I can get one and wait till Halo 2 comes out. I'll most probably have to beg my mam for a widescreen T.V. so I could live happily ever after. That would be nice. Here is a list of games, which I think make the Xbox a magical console:

I do not own an Xbox so I don't know if these games are the best or just rubbish, comment on it if you want. I guess Bill Gates wouldn't really be that much bothered anyway if this console didn't make a profit because he's rich anyway, I heard his favourite game for it though was Fusion frenzy or something like that, is that true? I m sorry I didn’t write as much for the Xbox its just that I do not know as much about it as the other consoles.
