right, having decided i hated packard bell and that all things packard bell must die I decided that my warranty could be abandoned and i would delete the packard bell version and put my own on. Right this went without a hitch and surprisingly all the divers were ther. Then my dad decided that he wanted to play with the sound application and killed the soundcard. Anyway the fact of the matter is that the driver is buggered and I can't find the useless hunk of junk which calls itself an ME CD. More to the point I was able to get it to search for its own drivers and it found em in the Windows/system/drivers or what ever its called directory. Anyway i was feeling pleased with myself when the sound came back to life but was ratherless than pleased after i restarted it and it decided to die again. Reinstalling the driver from the C: drivve gets the sound back but it doesn't stay. Anyone got any idea what its playing at and am i likely to need to find the CD. Thanks
