I've been going to game for quite a long time now because that is the only "games only" shop around where I live. I go to game because the only thing I find annoying when I go into stores like virgin megastore is that you can't expect the shop assistants to know about nintendo, microsoft, sony , sega etc because they might have good knowledge in music and know nothing about games.
Well, I went into game a week ago with my mate and asked some release dates for mario sunshine and the freeloader (and some more I can't remember), the shop assistant (who looked a bit thick and had lots of spots) just stared at us like we had something on our faces, then my mate whispered to me, "you've got some chocolate on your cheek." And so I did. After that, I wiped the chocolate off and thought I would get a different reply from the shop assistant, I didn't. So, we asked him again he said "sorry, we don't have any games releases until they are released." Fat lot of good that was. So we looked at some games and cossacks for the PC caught my eye, I thought it was an expansion so I looked round the box and found nothing so I asked the shop assistant if it was an expansion he said very slowly, "I don't know" (even more help!). My mate and I left.

So, I went to game yesterday and (thankfully) there was two different shop assistants I asked them if when the freeloader came out and one said "Datel have said that it should hopefully be out for the sixteenth of august" (he sounded like he was a walking talking information centre but wasn't one)Great! I thought. Before this though I had bought cossacks at the bigger game which is a bout 15 miles away. I was just walking out the store and I heard the shop assistants talking to each other talking about silent scope coming to GBA and they were saying things like "will it work?"etc
They actually knew what they were talking about! Hope the next assistant is like that because they made my shopping a heck of a lot quicker than the dumb assistants that are just trying to get some money on weekends.

The moral of this story is this,
"Don't go to market unless you know who you're dealing with." (Oh wait that's not it that's off that advert the real moral of the story is) erm,
"I don't like thick assistants?" (no not that either..... )

the wimbledon one huh?? where is it?? i might pop in to put you to the test :D
in the game (and eb) that i goto in kingston...they know sod all
they don't have the foggiest about anything...apart from pr*tting around behind the counter doing absolutely nothing.
i normally like listening to what they say when someone has asked them a question...and see what sort of c*ap answer they give
i did once go into eb and met an assistant (it was his first day there) who knew his games...actually stayed in there and talked to him for like half an hour (even got another person to join our conversation)...then when i went back the next time i never saw him again...maybe he got fired cos he knew what he was talking about :D

Not really. Lol. Its basically so they could employ me and so I didn't have to wait another year till I was 18.

Ah, the 'holiday' contract - the one where you have to fill out a special form so they don't get questioned by the government? I have seen that form.
