I bet there are some of you out there - just like me - who want to review loads of Dreamcast and other 'older' SEGA games but cannot do so at ukreviews.com due to the sheer age of the games.

Well, here's a thread where you can feel free to submit reviews of all the games you want (aslong as they're from SEGA).

Why bother?? Well, there are quite a few people out there - including myself, who would find people's opinions on certain games very usefull to help us decide on wether we should get it or not.
And although you may not win GAD for what you post here, a few friendly comments from other users on your reviews wouldn't go a-miss in order to help you know where you may be going wrong in your attemtps to win GAD at ukreviews.com.

And besides, it might kick a bit of life back into this place.
And you could also 're-do' your existing reviews you no longer like too - but don't copy them directly! CHEATERS! :P

So, what are you waiting for?? Get typing!

Oh, and remember to add a score at the end of it; x/10

'Crazy Taxi'

Let's all get KER-AZY and enjoy one of the finest arcade games to have ever reached a Home Console system! That's right, it may have happened quite some time ago, but Crazy Taxi finally moved on over to SEGA's Dreamcast - with a great effect.

If you're sat there as a happy (or maybe sad) Dreamcast owner reading this then i'm pretty certain that I can say to you that "You DO own a copy of this game!" without any further complaints or corrections. If the honest truth is that you've had your Dreamcast for quite a while now and you do not own this game, then frankly... you're even crazier than the game itself!!
Crazy Taxi was and still is one of the 'Hust Have' titles on SEGA's grey on-line box.

Making a living out of driving around in Taxi Cabs day-after-day, getting the customers to their destinations may not seem like a 'dream job' or 'dream game', despite the number of yellow cabs you see in the US.
So what makes this game one you cannot miss-out on? Well, that's where SEGA come in - turning this unknown Arcade Hit into a worldwide Chart Topper on the Dreamcast format alone.

This isn't just about helping out the customers, this is about speed and fast-paced racing. Wether you're doing your job in the Arcade or Original cities, you'll love the sheer thrill of this game. But despite what you may think, this game isn't quite as simple as you may expect. If you select to Play By Arcade Rules then you'll be given an initial 70 seconds to find a customer and deliver them. The faster and safer you get them there, the more you're likely to earn in time and money - giving you a better Licsense at the end of it all. But as there is no set Time Limit, the clock will always be counting down. And as soon as it reaches 00, it's Game Over for you. Then your character will be awarded a Taxi Driving License, with a Class given to you based on your skills during the time ranging from the highly-succesfull A (or even an S) to down the an E - unless you fail to get given a licsense AT ALL!
But no matter what you'll get, you'll be coming back to playing by the Arcade rules, over and over again. You'll always want to earn more money than before, and finally make it into the Top 20 where you're initials will be forever embedded in the Demo at the start of the game.

Aswell as this mode that made you spend-and-spend back in the Arcades, there are a selection of timed modes to choose to play in also.
Within a set Time Limit (either 3, 5 or 10 minutes) you'll be required to do your job and work hard and fast to beat the clock and serve as many people as possible in order to get the biggest profit at the end of it all.
There may be no Rankings given to you at the end, but this is still a good way for you to beat the best in the Records section.

Select 'Crazy Box' from the Main Menu and you'll soon realise that there is a lot more to this than what meets the unblinking, fun-loving eye.
The likes of Crazy Jump, Crazy Drift, Crazy Turn, Crazy Jam (and 5 others) are already open and available to you to show you what you can really do with 2 hands on the wheel of a Taxi! Complete all of the existing ones succesfully, and more will appear offering a much greater challenge.
But you'll never be able to pull-off all of these challenges the simple way.
In order to conquer them all you'll need to master the Crazt Manouverings of Crazy Drift, Crazy Dash, the Crazy Back-Dash and the Crazy Back-Drift.
Mastering the Crazy Box games and these moves will also help you to improve in the main game.

The unique and entertaining Taxi Drivers you have to choose from in this game just goes to add to the excitement in the ways they interact with the customers and their 'individual' ways. 4 may not seem like a lot to choose from, but every individual should be able to find someone best-suited to their own skills.
There's the young, green-haired punk Axel who makes no mistakes, the cool, hip-hop loving B.D. Joe who's always ready to go crazy, lovely-young Gena the sexy-sis, and big Gus, the oldest of the lot with an eye for money.
Not only are some faster than others, but they each have their own individually designed cabs, reminisant of the drivers characteristics themselves.

The customers themselves can bring quite a smile to your face also - mainly because of their personallities and individuallity. The interactions and voice acting of all the in-game characters are superb. Take too long and there'll soon be a war-of-words inside the cab, right before they jump out. But do well enough, and not only will you be showered with Tips but the praises will be flying too.
Each charcter has their own individual destinantion too. And the ones inside green circles have a longer journey to go than the ones in the red, giving you the chance to get even more cash from them.

Add to all this some rocking tunes from those 'punk kings' The Offspring and the like, this becomes one of THE games with a soundtrack that can rival even that of Tony Hawk's latest skating adventure.
There may be very little to unlock in this game, but what you get will impress - especially that 'hidden vehicle' that'll really bring back the life into this great racer.
One map in each of the 2 modes seems a little short also - but that just makes your job as a Cab Driver even easier. Think about it.... it'll be even easier for you to learn where exactly the likes of KFC, Levi's and FILA are, so you'll be able to deliver the pasengers to their destenations that extra bit quicker.

The only real problem I can name here is that you will experience a bit of something that's known as 'slow-down'. But aside from that, everything's fine.
This game will never freeze-up or crash.... unlike the average crazy American driver!

Don't own this game already?? Get it now - it's still hot after 3 years!

I'll give it a 9/10

My review of Crazy Taxi 2:

Crazy Taxi 2 swaps the rollercoaster streets of San Francisco for the wide busy roads of the Big Apple - New York, and like the classic arcade original, there is one overriding goal: make as much money as you can as fast as you can.
Everything is still here: the impatient loony customers, the wild and wreckless drivin', the large detailed cities, the foot stomping soundtrack, the clever fare system, and of course the "crazzzzzy money" - this game is just dripping with cool class and fun-packed action.

*GRAPHICS*
Not much needs to be said other than bright, crisp, colourful and oozing quality.
The graphics are virtually identical to those of the original Crazy Taxi, although I would say that the textures of the buildings seem a little more detailed.

*NEW YORK, NEW YORK*
Crazy Taxi 2 features two new cities in which to earn your daily Dollar: "Around Apple" and "Small Apple".
-AROUND APPLE is the main and largest city. There's a bustling innercity area, several long freeways, a suburban district and a downtown neighbourhood.
-SMALL APPLE is a smaller innercity area full of skyscrapers and winding backstreets. There's also a central park and a complex subway system.
Both cities have over 30 customer destinations and countless rooftop and alternative route shortcuts.
They are brilliantly designed and just brimming with life.

*CONTROL*
Compared to the original, the cab control has been improved.
It is now much easier to perform some of the crazy manoeuvres, especially the Crazy Drift Stop.
All in all the controls have been tweaked and made easier making driving the cabs even more addictively playable.
On top of this you can now perform a "Crazy Hop" which means taking shortcuts to destinations is now possible by jumping onto the rooftops of buildings. Fantastic.

*MULTIPLE CUSTOMERS*
New to Crazy Taxi 2 are the multiple customers: you can now take on board up to four customers at one time.
Groups of multiple fares are scattered throughout the cities and they come in the form of Afro Dancers, Mime Artists, Cheerleaders and Rockabillies.
This new feature adds a fresh twist to the gameplay: when you pick up a group of customers, each one wants to go to a different destination, so you have suss out the quickest order in which to drop them off.
All in all this adds a much needed "strategy" element to the gameplay.

*CABBIES*
There are four new cabbies:
-SLASH - a cool and classy punk.
-ICEMAN - a bare-chested tattooed rocker.
-CINNAMON -a happy-go-lucky gal.
-HOT-D - a young-at-heart veteran.
On top of these, the original four cabbies from the first game (Axel, B.D.Joe, Gena & Gus) can be unlocked by completing the Crazy Piramid mini-games.

*EXTRAS*
-Crazy Piramid: 16 diverse mini-games ranging from crazy golf to a time trial tour of the cities.
-Replay Mode: record your crazy drivin' for one minute then sit back and watch the replay from a variety of camera angles.
-Maps: these maps of both cities show all the customer destinations and is unlocked by completing the early mini-games.
-Vehicles: apart from the cabs you can unlock a bike and the slightly silly baby stroller.

*THE OFFSPRING*
American punk band The Offspring return with four thrash'n'flow adrenelain-pumping rock tracks which compliment perfectly the onscreen action.

*IN A NUTSHELL*
The original Crazy Taxi is a classic of its type. Crazy Taxi 2 is more of the same except better.

Thrills'n'spills arcade drivin' at its best!
